Featured Reformed & non Reformed doctrinal statements

I was more thinking alond lines of say DTS calvinists, not so much those holding to fully reformed, but reformed...

 

Coming out of the other camp, I used the same sayings before, and had them hurled at me, too. It adds nothing to the subject being discussed, imo. We will never find a "middle ground" betwixt the two camps, but we can do w/o the post he posted, imo. I didn't mean to offend anyone by confronting him, but I just thought it was an unnecessary and unwarranted response. But, I could possibly be wrong. Again, I meant no harm...:saint:

 

How does saying she might be challenged in her thinking by going to a Reformed church equal an unnecessary and unwarranted response? I see nothing in it that is derogatory. I do however see the person that posted about the 18 year old as causing division and sowing discord as that is what his post intended.

I take it that if anyone says another's thinking might be challenged by listening to a another camp (in this case the Reformed camp) then to you it's wrong and derogatory to make such a statement?

I see nothing wrong with one challenging themselves intellectually and theologically, that is "healthy" and something we all should endeavor to do.

Perhaps it is also something that you and those on the "reformed' side might do as well. Never know when you yourself might be challenged in even more sound doctrine.

My guess (hope) is that you read that implication in the same way that many perceived your input to be.

My post was satirically formed to make light of the euphemistic implications behind the “innocent” questions of how one could insure himself a Calvinistic Reformed Church on a C/A debate forum.

Thanks Convicted1, but frankly I knew where I was at and even pre-considered that I was opening myself up for a probable rebuttal/attack which would focus on being an insult against my daughter as a personal assault against me for making the point.

Also it is of no surprise when certain individuals would jump in to condone the personal stuff because the same are typically answering most arguments by attempting to start personal slugfests anyway.

But I commend you for recognizing the difference between a jestful attack on the issue and a ...jesful?... attack which focuses on the person. Obviously many here don’t.

I was the one who wrote an insulting post to Yeshua1 because he suggests that only a Reformed school could mentally challenge a student. Yeshua1 is just a cheerleader, he doesn't have a clue what he is saying.



Now he will complain, and I will get an infraction, even though he insulted non Cals first. Such is life at BB, it is worth it.

 

I am actually more of a Dispy reformed, as a DR McArthur, not someone like an RC Sproul!

 

I am not complaining on this, just find it hard that reformed/reformed theology though would be seen as not being mentally stimulating, as honestly, if you read systematic theology from either baptist 4 pointers, or reformed 5 pointers, "very mentally stimulating!"
