I stand truly amazed at how much, when it comes to politics, the folks within the church are willing to try and rationalize and justify that which is just wrong.

Did it by supporting that man who 100% rejects Jesus Christ.
Do it constantly with being against abortion and for capital punishment.
Do it constantly be justifying the dishonor and disrespect directed toward those God has placed in authority over us.

All in the name of politics.

But even so, Jesus Christ extends the same mercy and grace for that death-deserving law breaking that so many on here won't extend or try to tie conditions to.

I stand truly amazed at what lengths some people will go to in order to condemn the brethren, even after being shown their misapplication of scripture.

If you're preaching temporal, fleshly life then you aren't preaching the gospel. That's the only kind of life the death penalty addresses, and it doesn't preclude eternal life in heaven with the Lord Jesus.

So now you're a modern-day prophet, huh? And a false one at that.

Claiming direct revelation from God that contradicts His word is blasphemy, you know. I wouldn't go out in any thunderstorms any time soon if I were you.

The numerical amount of chopped up scriptures it takes to form a doctrine to justify a Christian taking life, is large. The simple one greatest verse and greatest commandment is larger though. It just doesn't get any simpler than the words of the Master. Love your neighbor, your enemies too. Judge not..

Thank you for supplying chopped up Scripture to support your disdain for using chopped up Scripture. The irony is incredible.

I find it also interesting how such characterizations of scripture are used when one has no defense against what the word of God tells us.

Well...since the only person you know for sure is in my household is me, you must be calling me an unrepentant sinner.

Is this you exemplifying "Christ-like" behavior?

I'm seeing "let them go unpunished", about people who commit murder. That is the end result of the mis-application of "love your enemies".

Is this is a serious comment, or was it made in jest?

If the former, it is unbelievable because Our Lord would have told you to declare something in His name that contradicts what is in Scripture. If it is the latter, it gives evidence to a lack of respect for Him.

Ed. to add- Just noticed that someone else already addressed this.

The misapplication of Scipture taking place is by the brethren that have placed politics ahead of God. That's why nothing near the love of Christ comes out of the viewpoint the majority of the brethren on here take.

The absence of God being behind might also explain why some on here and in the church are so caustic with anyone who doesn't share their politics.

Pure foolishness. I guess the only person in your church is you too.

Read the word. The revelation doesn't get any more direct than that.

What is blasphemous is the way yall continue to elevate your politics before the basics of Christ. Just stunning.

"Pure foolishness"? You make a blanket statement without knowing the truth of the matter, and when I point out that it's a foolish statement, I'm the one who's being foolish?

I ask again: Are you exemplifying the Christ-like behavior that you say is so lacking in the rest of us?

Yes pure foolishness. You made a blanket assumption about what you thought was a blanket statement

And then set out to take a dig based upon your blanket assumption.

    Are you?

Since this thread is boiling over, I'm closing it.

FYI, the membership of this site is pretty much made of cessionists. So, effectively saying God gave you a revelation will trhow gasoline on the fire.
