Stating that Christ death didn't save anyone is stating a blasphemous lie, for believers were healed by His stripes! 1Peter 2:24 that speaks to His death!

Again, oh simpleton, let me break it down to where even YOU can understand it...

Christ's life---He lived a life than none could live. He met all the requirements of the Law. He lived the perfect life....

Christ's death--Christ's death by the shedding of His blood brought propitiation for sinners via His atoning sacrifice of His shed blood. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission...

Christ's burial--it fulfilled the scriptures in the works of the prophet Jonah. Jesus even stated that 'this sinful and perverse generations seeks for a sign', and He told them about Jonah and compared what He was going to do to what happened to Jonah.

Christ's resurrection--it brought justification to us. Christ became victorious over death, hell and the grave by His resurrection.

His ascension--by Him ascending to the Father, He became the High Priest after the order of Melchisadec. He is now our Intercessor, our Advocate with the Father.

Christ's death ALONE, all by itself, doesn't save sinners. We are saved by all of what He did, and that includes His resurrection. He is the God of the living and not the dead.

If He is still in the grave, we're still in our sins....

You're denying the resurrection of Christ is necessary to save sinners...that's blasphemous....

The only thing you can break down is the fact that you deny the saving death of Christ, the Resurrection proved it. Peter says that Us believers were saved/ healed by Christ's Stripes, which denotes His Death 1 Peter 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

You deny this Truth, your testimony is:

Christ's death saved no one !

If Christ's body was still in the ground, would anyone still be saved?

Christ's death virtually saved us...but it is the Spirit that actually saves. For if Christ's death saved us alone, there is no need for the Spirit and its effectual calling, giving of faith and repentance, and regeneration.

He bore our sins in His body to atone for our sins. He was the sacrificial Scapegoat of Lev. 16. He wasn't bruised for our iniquities and wounded for our transgressions(Isa. 53:5). God poured out His wrath on His Son and by doing so, Christ became the Propitiation of sinners' sins(1 John 2:2).

However, if He wasn't resurrected, we'd be in big trouble. His resurrection confirmed everything He did, and it sealed it for us.

Remember this....SBM holds to eternal justification...to accept that Christ's resurrection brought forth justification, he'd have to accept defeat....

In fact, you are in denial of the very thing the Resurrection of Christ evidences and gives credence to, that the Death of Christ saved those He died for from the penalty of their sins, which is Death ! For Christ's Resurrection did not satisfy God's Law and Justice, but His Death did, and the Resurrection is evidence, and you deny the very evidence of the Resurrection. Do you believe that those Christ died for and rose again , are still in their sins before they believe ? Yes or No ?

You are just as bad as the other one is. The Death of Christ alone actually saved those He died for from the penalty of their sins as well as is the meritorious cause for all subsequent savings !

Did you understand the points made? Rehearse them with me to see if you understood them....

It's obvious you haven't read them, because if you did, we'd be in complete agreement. Again, reread and rehearse them and then we will discuss them...

It's obvious you didn't read them....

The sheep were in their sins prior to the conversion of the soul at the point of salvation. We were all born sinners... none were born saved...except Christ and John the Baptist(who had the Spirit whilst in Elizabeth's womb)...

Christ was not born saved. He is the Savior.

I suppose that means no to my question, which proves that you dont believe the death of Christ saved those He died for from the penalty of their sins, nor do you even believe that the Resurrection is proof ! So all your harping about the Resurrection was a sham ! After both Christ's Death and Resurrection, you still believe those He died for are in their sins !

Boy, when you get an idea you really hammer it into the ground, don't you?

Christ's death was extremely important, but Bro Willis hits the nail quite close to, if not squarely on, the head here. It took more than just the death of Christ. This is not, as SBM seems so desperate to say, a denial of Christ's death. Rather, it is an acceptance of Biblical truth that the death on the cross required the subsequent resurrection from the dead, and the further subsequent ascension to the Father, as a means of sealing the deal.

Remember, SBM, this is not to say Christ's death on the cross was not a powerful moment. But look to the Temple sacrifices of the OT as a type and shadow. Those sacrifices rendered the creature being sacrificed dead. No lamb ever took back up it's life after being sacrificed by the High Priest. Christ, speaking better things than the sacrifice of Abel, came not as a creature to be sacrificed, but as the Creator willingly giving His life for His creation. He laid down His life, having already said that if He did so, He had power to pick it back up. That's when the sacrifice was realized as eternal and better than the temporary sacrifices of the old covenant. Christ died and then picked up His life once again, coming out of the grave victorious in a manner that no OT sacrifice could achieve for us. He ascended to Heaven, taking His place at the right hand of the Father, serving as our new, true High Priest, making intercession for us. If He had never come out of the grave, then His sacrifice would have been no better than that of the bulls and goats of the OT.

Is that what you call 1 Pet 2:24, my idea ? I thought it was scripture, the word of God !
