What does the Eastern Orthodox Church have to do with Jesuits?

No, I said the word originally received by the authors was without error.

Through the Textual Criticism of tens of thousands of ancient manuscripts.

Yes. However, in the entire Bible, only about 4-6% are is in question. None of it has any impact on doctrine.

Not that I can recall, it's mostly the more obscure passages like those describing the size of an army. However, Mark 16:9-20 is another passage in question.

    Sovereignty as in "supreme authority"

Uh-huh, but I am talking about today, the Bible in your hand has errors? All Bibles are in error in "some" places? There are no perfectly preserved words of God, in toto, in any single location?

Why would you question that passage?

Are you surprised? Yeshua was His original Hebrew name. More similar to Joshua. I believe Jesus came from a Greek translation. Jesus was Jewish, not Greek afterall. I think TCassidy may correct me if I am wrong.

1st time Jesus said "do you love me sacrificially?'

Peter said, "You know I have brotherly affection for you."

The 2nd time Jesus said "do you love me sacrificially?"

Peter said, "You know I have brotherly affection for you."

The 3rd time Jesus said "do you have brotherly affection for me."

And it grieved Peter that the 3rd time Jesus said "brotherly affection" instead of "sacrificial love."

Peter knew he could not love Jesus the way he should. But Jesus used him anyway.

What? The Society of Jesus (Jesuits) was founded in 1534, almost 500 years after the Great Schism (1054). The Jesuits are Roman Catholic, not Eastern Orthodox.

I see, I need the TCassidy version.

Brother, you are self-deceived. Pride does that, unwilling to admit error.

John 21:15 KJB - So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? ...

John 21:16 KJB - He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? ...

John 21:17 KJB - He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? ...

I asked about Jesus ... Show me the "third" time ...

    I already did.

    τρίτον means "third time."

The third time Jesus asked him the question he used a different, lesser, word which grieved Peter.

    Got it now?

The reason brother TCassidy that you cannot see the "third" time, is because your Concordance/Lexicon, etc rules over your plain English Bible.

Here brother TCassidy, consider this, and if you go all the way through without cheating [I do not say you are or will, just as a precaution to get the most out if it], maybe you can then see:

The Greek Game, and the Agape/Phileo Test

I already showed you "the third time" twice.

    I don't use a Concordance/Lexicon. I read Greek.

No, it supports my English bible. It says the same thing as the Greek.

John 21:15 So when they had eaten their breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I have affection for you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.”

16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I have affection for you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.”

17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you have affection for me?” Peter was grieved because he asked him the third time, “Do you have affection for me?” He said to him, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I have affection for you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep."

And that is EXACTLY what the Greek says!

Yes! I know that may be a a tough pill to swallow. But no doctrine has been compromised as a result of any of these errors. We can praise God for that!
