Methinks - that Calvinists or non-Calvinists have nothing to do with being a modernist.

They are conservative theologically, on average. Pentecostals and Charismatics subvert the Faith by what they add (The so called Baptism of the Holy Spirit) not what they try to argue against. Also, I have found every Charismatic church I have ever been to makes so much about the Sunday 'show.' Lastly, the rise of false prophets and false apostles in the Pentecostals and Charismatics is something that places churches that believe such outside of the Faith.

Most, not all, don't think the revelation today is on the same level as scripture. They consider it an inferior revelation.

Sorry, I was trying to communicate that Sunday morning was always about the high production value. IMO the money is better spent on charity and missions. Let's focus on the Word and God over entertainment.

A moderate Baptist is one who says they believe the bible but they are ok with those who don't. They put personal autonomy over the truth. A lot of CBF churches (moderate?) now are embracing homosexuality. The churches that don't will not separate over this. Autonomy and freedom again.
I am sick and tired over the socially "woke" leadership. The SBC has a bureaucracy that is second to none with its wastefulness and protection of their jobs. There are small denominations who put out many more missionaries per capita. Am probably thru forever with SBC though that is my heritage.

Per capita? No one does it better than the SBC. Our missionaries dont have to come home to raise funds. They do have benefits. Mot sure what is considered wasteful but im sure that is in the eye of the beholder

It's ironic how well we do with foreign missions and how terrible we are at home missions.

Personal observation ... foreign missionaries want to go over there and do the work themselves, while advocates for home missions want everyone else to get out and do the work while they organize things.
(I find it no surprise that one succeeds while the other fails.)

I agree. Even though SBC does have home missions board, the vast majority tests on the churches. Most pastor's have decided evangelism is not their job.
I remember DJames Kennedy and Bailey Smith both saying that they personally, (away from church, just in their everyday personal affairs) won at least one person per week average to Christ. There you have a Calvinist and a very NON Calvinist.
They both said that it was their job. They both said study and preparation is the job of every Christian, so they refused to use the excuse didn't have time because of sermon preparation.

Liberals always find a foothold & expand like the cancer that they are. Liberal is too nice a name for what they have become, & they always use the social justice angle. How could you be against this? Then how can you be against that? Then if you agree, you become joined to their pathway to power. When it becomes apparent, & surely even the unaware will recognize it, the cry will be ‘how did this happen?’ Just like in education, it happened slowly & deliberately. The cancer always spreads.

SBC Seminary Presidents issue statement reaffirming Baptist Faith & Message 2000

"Additionally, the statement declares that while condemning 'racism in any form', the seminaries agree that 'affirmation of Critical Race Theory, Intersectionality and any version of Critical Theory is incompatible with the Baptist Faith & Message'."

"Danny Akin, president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and current chairman of the Council of Seminary Presidents, said those specific issues were addressed in light of concerns raised by Southern Baptists, including resolutions on the topic adopted by several state conventions at their annual meetings this fall."

"'We felt that because our brothers and sisters in various state conventions have concern about this issue, they would also want to know what their seminaries actually think, and what we are teaching and not teaching', Akin said."

"SBC President J.D. Greear affirmed the statement as well. Greear, pastor of The Summit Church in the Raleigh-Durham, N.C., area, decried 'outlandish claims, out-of-context sermons or teaching clips, along with outright lies, (which) have been used to attack people and undermine the Great Commission work of our Convention, its entities, state conventions, and churches'."

ABM used to mean anti-ballastic missile but now ABM is anybody but Mohler.

Seems like there is something disingenuous in that statement, given what plenty of other reports are saying about CRT and current teaching in the SBC seminaries.

Probably an attempt to defuse the issue before next June.
