OOOHHHHHHHHH, but I have an Advocate with the Father who ever lives to make intercession for me--and if I confess my sins He is faithful and just to forgive me of my sins and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness!!

I do not live out the ten commands in order to be saved--but because I am saved! Its what marked out the Israelite from the Sinnite! Of course, the reality of the ten commands are found in the precious Lord Jesus Christ who distinquishes me from the world!

    Your buddy,
    Blackbird

    Dear blackbird,

Yes, I thought you would have experienced that.

Here is my view of the New Covenant relationship to the Law.

    Hebrews 12
18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:
20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:
21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)
22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

    So, Handy dandy HankD

Is that good or bad?? I mean, what I have experienced? Even God told Moses that there would come a day when the commands would not be written on tablets of stone--but on hearts of men--and the people believed what God said by faith! When God made that proclaimation--the Israelites believed by faith as if it were already so!!

So, is that good or bad?

    Brother Blackbird

Blackbird, that is an excellent point about not living out the Ten Commandments in order to be saved, but living them because you are saved [IMG]

    Consider it Plagerised

We are all on the same page.

2 Corinthians 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

    Amenn!!!
For by grace are you saved through faith:and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them Eph 2:8-10

So lets praise Him and keep walking!!

Nice posting Blackbird! Yay for Blackbird!
I remember reading one of your posts about how you blasted people into orbit for days with your witty replies.
    It was pretty cool!

the ten commandments are given to the nation Israel, as a nation!

notice that the commandments are of individual obedience, however, its effects is to that of a nation.

this concept is worth a thought: God is the one who established nationality. as His chosen nation, He gave Israel the ten commandments to follow. from this we can deduce that the ten commandments is an ideal set of norms that, when followed more and more by a nation's citizens, gets the particular nation to be more prosperous and vice versa.

it would also be nice to consider the divine establishment: they are individualism, marriage, family, nationality and government. notice that all the commandments not relating to God can be said in this form: respect the divine establishments!
