Just wanted to share this great quote with you all:

Source: R.M. Dudley, "The Distinctive Baptist Way: Our Reasons for the Separate Existence of Baptists," in J.M. Frost; Timothy and Denise George, eds., Baptist Why and Why Not (Nashville: Broadman, 1900; reprint ed., Nashville: Broadman & Holman, 1996), page 31.

Thank you for sharing that, I'll need to read the whole thing. Recently someone e-mailed me and tried to convince me that denominations were evil, so I've been trying to read up on and come up with helpful material on the subject so I'm ready to deal with it next time, plus I myself get frustrated with it all, so it's good for me too. humble men from any other denomenation can say the same, or may already have using different words. it did not show any baptist distinctive. but it was a good attitude.

the quote did not suggest why one should be a baptist (it assumed it!) but the correct attitude in being a one(though it's also applicable for other denominations).

Why should we be "proud" to be "Baptist"?

Shouldn't we be "grateful" to be "Christian" instead?

Pride goes with achievement, gratitude goes with gifts.

Jesus is not your Savior, if He is not also Your Lord.
