I think I've now read all of Janette Oke's books, including the ones she did with T. Davis Bunn.

I've also read The Yellow Rose trilogy by Lori Wick, and I enjoyed those a lot, so I'll probably read some more of hers.

Can anyone suggest some other authors/books I might enjoy?

You've just got to read Francine Rivers. I have read all of her books.

She isn't a romance novelist. Well, she used to be in the early '80s and actually won many awards.

Well, she was saved in 1986 and now she writes for the Lord. She writes historical and modern-day fiction.

I guess you could say that there is an element of "romance" to her writings, but they are more about the reality of being a Christian and what God can do with your life if you let Him in.

Her books are powerful and they tackle issues and subjects that most people don't want to talk about.

I promise you won't be disappointed. And you will learn something, too.

    Peace-

Oh you just have to read the rest of Lori WIck's books! She is soooo good! I loved The Kinsington Chronicles series the best. Or the Californians. I can't really decide! Also Cathrine Palmer. Her "Town Of Hope" series is wonderful! Al And Johanna Lacey are great. I love the mail order brides series. The publishing company Barbour prints great 4 in 1 books by diffrent authors that I love. Also there is a HeartSong Presents book club that sends four books every month. Can you tell I read all the time? LOL, I've always got my nose in a book, either some book of sermons, biographies of preachers, books for KJV onlyisum, church history, my Bible, hymnals, Christian romance, or Christian fiction.
I've read all of Janette Oke's books too. I loved the "When Calls The Heart" Series! I've read them OVER AND OVER again! Did you read her two new ones in that series? After the Storm, and When Tommorrow Comes? I loved Song of Acadia too! I've read the last four books in that series.
Oh I just love to read! I'm reading "When Calls the Heart" by Janette Oke agian! and "Final Athourity" by Bill Grady {book on the King James Bible}, Proverbs, Isiah, and second Timothy right now.
Ah, just thinking about it makes me want to go read! So I'll pester ya'll tommorrow!

I really like Beverly Lewis. I have just finished reading all but one or two of her books. They are about life in Amish country. Very, very good, and fast reading. I highly recommend them!

I read the Beverly Lewis books about the Amish - so I object (but not to strenously) that they are catagorized as "Women's Fiction."

Hey! I saw a few of her books the other day at Wal-Mart! I didn't buy any, but I am very interested in reading them.
