Now, another church has put up a sign which reflects the message "If it isn't KJV, then flush it." What do you think?

Still juvenille, but I give them points for creativity.

Wow! Now that really communicates the gospel to a lost and dying world. (sarcasm)

    Embarassing, embarrassing, embarassing...... [IMG]

The KJV sign is bad enough.

Then, to make things worse, Artimaeus chimes in with a bad joke. [IMG]

Well I'm glad they put up a sign, now I know which church not to go to.

No different than the church that put up the sign about the Koran.

Let's just do away with signs altogether.

If people want to know what we think, then they ought to come in the church and see.

This is not conveying the message that Christ would have us to present to a dying world.

Well, it seems the plumbing would be safe, were these portions of the new easy to read versions flushed.

From the RSV, NRS, NIV, NLT, ESV:
    Matt 17:21
    Matt 18:11
    Matt 23:14
    Mark 7:16
    Mark 9:44
    Mark 9:46
    Mark 11:26
    Mark 15:28
    Luke 17:36
    Luke 23:17
    John 5:4
    Acts 8:37
    Acts 15:34
    Acts 24:7
    Acts 28:29
    Rom 16:24

    From the RSV & ESV:
    Matt 12:47

    From the RSV only:
    Matt 21:44
    Luke 22:43
    Luke 22:44
    Luke 24:12

There is no text. What sort of message does this convey to a dying world?

    By grace,
    Bob Krajcik

I had some KJVO literature given to me once that compared other versions of the Bible to flour that had weavils in it. It suggested that they should be thrown out.

I would not throw a NIV or NASB or any other translation in the bin in favour of the KJV. What I see is when people write comments like that, they are making themselves as "judges" of others which the Bible says specifically not to do.

Hence I would disregard their sign and maybe even mail the Pastor a copy of Charles Swindoll's "The Grace Awakening". They are in misery keeping to a yoke that Christ has not required them to bear, seeing that in Scripture may well set them free.

I'd think that might be a church worth visiting.

Seems as if the weevils ate some portions of the new versions. Reading those portions in the KJV and then comparing those portions with the new versions, it is very obvious those verses are not there. If it is argued what was said in those missing verses can be found elsewhere, I agree, and I know where they are. They can be found in the KJV where they have always been. [IMG]
