Clarks Summit hits rock bottom

    Closure Announcement

    "July 1, 2024....Due to these financial circumstances, Clarks Summit University’s Board of Trustees has made the difficult and painful decision to begin the process of closure. Clarks Summit University, including Baptist Bible Seminary, is unable to offer classes starting in the fall of 2024."

    Very sad. Know some good men who have taught there and others who have trained there.

    Was told of a new hire for Fall2024 who signed contract and moved family in June to the area and less than a month later was set adrift without a job or resources. I believe the source of this story but unable to confirm. Wall of silence from my conservative GARBC pastor friends.

    Probably no disagreement except from Scranton Chamber of Commerce. Probably no need for your comment. either, as no bearing on the sad news of a good Baptist university/seminary closing.

    You have been to Scranton then? I was born there and that’s my hometown. I go there on visits every year.

    Just not related to topic. But YOU have far more knowledge than me of that area.

    I only briefly have been in the area (Wilkes-Barre and Clarks Summit) staying in Scranton for motel. Defer to your personal experience, brother.

    It’s not a problem brother… the area has been having economic struggles for many years now… and that leads to many many issues that I won’t mention.

    BTW, thank you for your diligence in policing the BB. With your extensive background and education I’m beginning to feel confidence in righting the ship.:Thumbsup

    2 Clarks Summit (Wanted 2 C if Mr. Kent was dare. He was my SUPER hero "Back in the day!!) The AF Buddy was going there, & besides I MIGHT B able 2 use my GI vet 2 help me w/ my "finances"! (Yeah... Right...:) ;)! My "Home of Record is/was ZIP 18964," BUT that warn't a happin' 2 me. "EDitoral" comment: It's a down right shame what's happening NOT ONLY 2 that college, BUT also 2 many a good Bible College (cf. TN Temple having 2 merge w/ (I think it's) Piedmont in NC)!! Who nose what's next??11??.... (Now I'm knot sayin' a person HAS 2
