This should come as no surprise to those familiar with "South Park"

    LINK

NEW YORK — Banned by Comedy Central from showing an image of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, the creators of "South Park" skewered their own network for hypocrisy in the cartoon's most recent episode.

The comedy — in an episode aired during Holy Week for Christians — instead featured an image of Jesus Christ defecating on President Bush and the American flag....

Comedy Central are then rightly Hypocrites, they allow the depiction of offensive material to Christians, but not to Muslims. I hope that some of the extreme left wingers that activley support the show because it gives them an avenue to express their view, realise that they have in fact, sold out to the cause and are hypocrites.

Have you heard the term South Park Republican it is out their a lot of conservatives watch the show because the creators really are not liberal..more libertarian. The conservatives get a kick out of the show when it goes after prominent people from the left..example Barbara Streisand. So to claim this show is of the liberal left and is actively supported by them is
bogus. You have got to take a fair view of who watches it and South Park is definitely watched by the conservative side that is void of taste .
The show should be yanked by Fox(the conservatives favorite) and comedy central or at least put on at 3 a.m. in the morning.

but please do not claim it is from the extreme left when in truth it is from two guys who are very, very, conservative and disdain Hillary Clinton to Barbara Striesand.

Just heard about Popetown this morning. It's going to be playing on German TV I guess, and maybe here. But you can already get it on DVD.

Introducing the most hilarious, the most outrageous, the most controversial and the most addictive comedy series ever made. This now infamous series, considered too offensive for TV, and never before seen in the UK, finally makes its highly anticipated debut on DVD.

This is Popetown, where money, power and corruption are the name of the game, and everyoneís playing. With an all-star cast, Popetown takes you into the side-splittingly surreal world of the Vatican as the long suffering and good-hearted Father Nicholas struggles to walk the narrow path of righteousness, whilst surrounded by money grabbing cardinals and a pogo-stick-riding infantile pope.

[IMG] It is actually a Republican book as well

Hollywood is now becoming less hostile to conservative ideals. Comedy Central South Park is the anti-liberal show and a example of a new Hollywood. Despite its vulgarity, South Park skews every liberal icon. South Park writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone are the anti-Christ of the left but it doesn't mean that they are conservative. They have attack some conservative ideas but their biggest targets are the left. (Parker and Stone can be classified more as libertarians than conservatives.) Their unabashed patriotic stance was represented in their movie, Team America: World Police with the bad guys being Islamic fundamentalist terrorists and North Koreans. This movie doesn't pretend that there are two sides to the debate in the war on terrorism and of course, they go after the Hollywood left.

Context is everything...it was absurdly stoopid and funny in its excess.

You know, maybe it's because I didn't sleep well last night, or maybe it's because my back hurts right now but,...

...who cares about the political affiliation or philosophical motives of the creators of South Park?

At this point, who cares if they are liberals or conservatives or hypocrites or libertarians or whatever label you want to slap on a name tag and pin on their chests????

    Who freakin' cares??

Their imagery of Christ in this episode is so offensive that is far transcends any discussion of their political motives.

And what about "Mr. Hanky"..the character who is a piece of feces that wears a Santa Claus hat and takes presents to the Jewish children every Christmas because Santa doesn't come to their house.

I thought that was about as sick as it came.

    Apparently, it is not.

There is nothing funny in this television program at all. And the grossest thing to me is that our children eat it up like candy.

My high schoolers at my "christian" school love the show. They talk about it all of the time.

Now you honestly tell me what a steady diet of this program does to children and adults, apparently. Just what is this imagery of Christ on this program going to do to my high school kids at the christian school who watch it this week in terms of their mindset about Christ.

Sorry for the rant....my back hurts...and sometimes I think we christians just really don't care that the whole world is just one big cess pool that we are drowning in it.

    Peace-
    Scarlett O.

It should be yanked off of Fox ...surely the AFA ,Dobson, and Concerned Women will go up against Fox (will not hold my breath on that one).

The show should be shown at 3 a.m. it is that shock humor that only gives its creators the chuckles and has nothing to do with joy but everything to do with shock.

The creators have had their little run and fun for a long time but yet seem to slip accountability...only we the viewers can shut them down.

boycott Fox(doubt it from people on this board) the only time they would boycott Fox is when Rupert comes out in favor of Hillary...how sad.

Where is the outrage from conservative voices who see this bathroom humor as the very lowest form of humor(sick)

Scarlett, I agree with your rant. And sadly, it is not just the children eating it up like candy, so do their parents. I long for a day when everything around me isn't so vile, but that won't happen until the Risen Lord Comes to Rule and Reign. One thing I know, there will not be a Comedy Central when that day comes, nor will there be anything even similar to it.

    Even so, Come, Lord Jesus.

I have never watched one episode of South Park. But I am not a fan of cartoons anyway. What I hear about it is enough to show that if you take what Christ did for you on the cross seriously then the show should be totally ignored no matter what your politics are.

I doubt that Muslims, who count Jesus to be a prophet would find it funny either. In fact I remember the time when Jesus was portrayed as a homosexual that it was a Muslim who protested in a newspaper. I saw no Christian protest at all.
