Good evening all,
I survived a busy weekend and a close call with a house fire! Yeah me!!!! God is really good because I was going to take a nap when I got home from working the big labor day festival that the indian tribe I work for has annually. Anyway, had I not stopped to feed the cats I wouldn't have seen the smoke and I might have been homeless and sleeping in my car by now. I turned off all the electricity to the house and since I know what caused the problem, now all I have to do is get it fixed. I am staying at my parents house which is half an hour from work! I don't like the idea because I am not a morning person and that means I have to get up even earlier. At least I still have my house though!
I brought in some chocolate chip cookies my nephew made and some snow cone makings. It is hot here and we need some cool air!
On the way home today, I saw some fall color. It is hard to believe it is that time of year already. I had better go, I need to go check on the laundry and see what is on the menu for tonight.

Hello all! :wavey:
I've been thinking about you folks now and then, and decided I had better come back and post before everyone thinks I've gone to glory!
Been busy with work, Sunday School, VBS, deaconess duties, etc. Glad to read that everyone is basically "hanging in there," regardless of our situations. If you'd care to see our VBS pictures, go to http://www.wabcphilly.org and take a look.
Sue, I can't believe Brent is going to start driving either! Now if I could only convince my 28 year old daughter to learn to drive...
BTW, that's not one of my kitties up there, but our newest guy looks a little like that.
Anyway, I hope to be checking in more often. Blessings! -
Good afternoon all,
I am just dropping in for a second because I am keeping the littlest niece while her sis is at soccer practice. Good news is my BIL thinks he can fix the problem with the house on Saturday! I had better grab a Mt. Dew and run; little bit keeps pushing buttons on the keyboard and I am tired of telling her no. Y'all have a blessed night.
:godisgood: -
Debbyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!
I did wonder if the rapture took you and I missed out on it. :(
We'll be starting the annual Christmas Swap in about a month, so keep checking in on us! :)
islandgirl: Where on earth do you get all of your energy? I get worn out just reading your posts.
We have started home school, so my time on here is somewhat limited. It will get much busier when basketball practice/games start. Brent also has his old paper route back. -
i just wanted to let you guys know that we now have mixed drink pouring going on at our church
:saint: and it wasn't me:saint:
however...i didn't play nice at the ball field and was sent home:laugh:
:praying: i never have to see another cheerleader in my life. -

Good Morning Everybody,
I agree with Debby, everything looks the same in here.
Not much going on with me. Still helping take care of my MIL who seems to be getting stronger everyday. Her doc feels that since Pat's coumadin level was so low that she bled into her joints and that is what caused the extreme pain. The pain is an ongoing daily battle as the blood takes it's time moving out of her joints.
Tonight Brenda and Pat said they feel like a cookout, so tonight we'll have hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill, with potato salad, and macaroni salad, and strawberry shortcake for dessert.
Time to run. -
Good morning all,
One good thing about the Coffee House...it never changes and we all stay friendly!
Rob: That Coumidin can throw a person for a loop! My husband still hasn't gotten his dosage straightened out from when he had his teeth pulled (and was off of it for over a week) and as a result, he has to have his pro-time taken at the hospital lab every 7 days.
We are having school, but I wanted to stop in and say, "Hey!".
HAGD!

I'm just stopping in for a quick cup of coffee. Started school today (got my books last night - found out I missed one!) and I now have to run to church for our new moms' group that I'm starting. Then home, do more work, cleaning and such. So thanks for the coffee!!

Howdy Everyone!
Not only did Tanya not play nice at the football field the other night, she got me in trouble too! :D Halleluia! I knew better than worry with cheerleader costumes in the beginning!
So from cheerleading to homecoming queen. How do I get myself into this stuff??? Wait, the homecoming queen stuff was all Cass and T. I said NO, Tanya was here and heard me and backed me up and then T came home and said "sure, why not?"
So I have been baking stuff for her to sell and I've sewed a couple of purses for the same cause. Homecoming queen is all about who raises the most money for the school.
If anyone know of a good source for reasonably priced glow sticks/necklaces, I'd appreciate a link. (I've found a better price than Oriental Trading but it'll take a good week for them to get here)
Cuz, I'm still praying for you and your family.
Sue, I already have a new driver. Cass being able to drive is worth every penny of the extra insurance! And I didn't have to pay it until she actually turned 16.
Debby, good to see you!
Ya'll have a good evening! I need to finish another purse and cook supper. -
Good evening all,
I am just dropping in for a second. I am going to grab a juice and hit the bed.
:sleeping_2:
Work comes early and I have to stop and get gas tommorrow so what is left of the last paycheck gets to go goodbye just in time for me to get one tommorrow night. It is so nice and cool here. I wish it would last but feel certain that after tommorrow we are back to the heat!
Sue, all of my energy comes from hanging around with lots of one year olds at work! I have to keep going or I will climbed on, used for a pillow or anything else that the six of them can dream up!
Y'all have a blessed day!:godisgood: -
Good morning all,
Well, I'm in Illinois and we're getting backlash from Gustav! It is supposed to rain for the next 3 days, possibly as much as 8 inches and we had high winds last night.
It looks like I'll be taking Brent on his paper route in the car for a couple of days.
I have some ironing to do while Brent is doing his home school lessons for today and then we're free for the rest of the day.
I fixed a large pot roast for supper last night, then shredded what was left and made barbecue, so we'll be having sandwiches and potato salad tonight.
This is my quiet time (DH gone to work, Brent still asleep) so I'm going to take advantage of it.
HAGD!

Good Morning Everybody,
Good to hear from you Cuz, and thanks for your prayers. You and Tanya shouldn't worry about getting in trouble, just remember the words of Mark Twain: "If you're being run out of town, get in front and make it look like a parade."
Hey Sue, greetings from the other side of "the big pond." We're getting a taste of Gustaf too. We have heavy rain predicted for today and tonight before everything moves out tomorrow and we need the rain too.
My MIL had a bad night last night. She was up most of the night with joint pain and leg cramps. Talked to her doc this am and he increased her pain med a bit and we're hoping it helps.
Got the Gkids up, fed, dressed and off to school this morning and now it's time to go help stabilize Walmart's economy. My Wife and MIL requested Chicken Pot Pies for dinner tonight so I have to go get the supplies. -
Well, today I SHOULD be at our staff retreat but without childcare, that's kind of hard. Oh well! I'll instead take today that I'm home the WHOLE day and get some stuff done. I need to keep working on straightening up and getting some decluttering done. It's the kind of thing that never ever gets fully done so if I can get a bit of a jump on it, I'll be in good shape. I feel like every room in this house is a mess.
I still need to figure out dinner too. It's going to be another hot day so something on the grill might be nice. We'll see what I want to do - I'll go shopping in my freezer in a bit. :) Rob - The chicken pot pie sounds great but that will have to wait until our highs are out of the high 80s. LOL -
Hey, just passed by and saw this place was still open :). Been any big changes around?
I could really use a Dunkin Donuts Boston Creme Filled, anybody seen one?
We are into Autumn here today is rain, wind, and a high of about 60F. Here is our weather for the next few days.
Anybody for a visit? -
Here ya go, Roger!
Our weather sounds like your weather for the next few days. Wind, rain, and it's 61º right now with a high of 70º.
Good morning all,
I'm up quite early this morning, but then I went to bed quite early last night. :) The Prednisone has worn off and I'm catching up on my sleep. Feels good!
Nothing fantastic planned for today, just home schooling and picking up around the house. Lazy day...
Have a good one!

Good morning all,
Hey Sue and Rob: I am glad that you all got a taste that rain I sent your way. We had three days of it and the weather even after has been nice and cool.
Not much going on this morning here, I slept in so I am still enjoying the quiet. The kids are at their mom and dad's for the weekend. I had better go, I am dropping of some warm biscuits and gravy stuff along with some fresh fruit. You all have a blessed day!
:godisgood: -
Thanks for the rain, islandgirl. We really did need it. We got 3 inches in one day. I can do without the cooler weather just yet though...
I just got over a Bronchitis attack and Brent has brought a cold into the house, so now I don't feel good again. It's too soon to take more medication, so I'm just going to lay on the couch and take it easy today.
We have enough left-overs to see us through lunch and supper and my laundry is done for the weekend.
I'm going to pamper myself, for a change, instead of everyone else.
I will read and watch TV and fall asleep when I want to. :) That is if I can keep everyone quiet!
Grandpa and Brent are putting a new starter or something on the truck, so they'll be busy for a bit.
Have a good day!

Well, we're going to be getting lots of rain here too. We're hunkering down getting ready for Hannah to visit Long Island. It's the quiet before the storm right now - very little wind and even a little sun a bit ago. The boat is buttoned down, the dinghy is tied down, the outside stuff is all put away and the house is getting cleaned. The laundry is running and I have a stove-top dinner planned in case we lose power (chances are good - we're due for 60 mph winds). I also have a video and the portable DVD player is all charged up and I got the Jiffy Pop popcorn so we're ready for a good night!
Take care everyone! See ya'll the other side of this! -
WOW! It's been a long time since I have been in here.
Just thought I'd drop in and say Hi :wavey:.
Hope you all are doing well.

Hey all,
I got my electric problem fixed enough I can go back home!
Anyway, I am looking at a very busy schedule for next week especially seeing as how soccer starts up Saturday! I'm just dropping by for a moment then I am going to go home and relax. :sleeping_2:
Y'all have a blessed week!
