Doctor said to go to Er so I did- got 2 breathing treatments and they were talking about a third. Overheard Doc say he thought my heart would go too high with a third. My ox levels went up a few numbers and my breathing isn't totally okay, but it's soooooo much better. Yay!

Ugh Gina! I hope you can get some relief soon!!

Sue - Advair is the thing that has made all the difference for my husband. He has severe asthma and used to use his albuterol 5-8X a day but he hasn't had to use it in years. It's amazing stuff!

Well, I worked a full day today and I'm just not cut out for this. I was at church by 8:30 this morning and didn't get home until 7 tonight. One of my bosses is the worship coordinator and she's in the hospital so I did all her work today. MAN, does she do a lot. Additionally, everyone needed my help for stuff so I was torn in so many directions today. I'll know Sunday after the two services if I did everything right. LOL

So tonight is a night to relax. Hubby is shot too because he's the "computer guy" at church, although he's so tired of computers after so many years of computer engineering. But he's computer super smart so he's the one to deal with issues. One woman had a virus it seemed. Then DH got to the computer and she didn't have one virus but 43!!! I've never heard of 43 viruses! So he had to wipe out her computer and reinstall everything. Ugh - what a lesson on backing up. I think he's now comatose in the living room. LOL

    We're thawing. PTL!

I have been teetering on the edge of depression for weeks, so a little sun and fresh air would be nice. That and a little less chocolate :) And maybe a good, long cry. I feel like I could at this moment. Curse these wild emotions!

We've invited guests over on Friday. It will be soooo nice to have some fellowship. And not just fellowship, but fellowship in English! YAY! One of our guests will be a single man who rarely gets home cooked meals. The other is a small family. She has health issues and has limited dietary options. I will accomodate her limitations. I'm excited about the menu and my girls are excited to get to help (they're getting old enough to truly be a help in the kitchen instead of clinging to my feet and dumping flour on the floor. LOL!)

I ordered a few books and can't wait for them to come. I haven't read a new book in quite some time.

Now that the sun is shining, I'm thinking about my garden and making plans. I always make plans. Lists. Lots of them. They rarely materialize, but making lists and plans keep me busy during many a dreary February. :)

    That's about it from here.

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 22 and icy here with snow flurries. Snow Flurries with no accumulation is the forecast for the next few days.

Went to the Doctor this morning and my back and hip are healing nicely. My doc has lifted my restrictions and said that
I can resume normal activities, but if I'm going out and it's icy that I should continue to use my cane for awhile for support.

PTL!!! I was going stir-crazy around the house. I'm celebrating my return to normal activity by making dinner tonight: Roast Turkey with Dried Fruit Stuffing, Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes with Seasoned Garlic Gravy, Green Bean Casserole, and Pumpkin Pie for dessert.

    YAY!!! No more sandwiches.

Spinach, Gina and Sue, Praying that you all feel better.

I've still got a little "hitch in my git-along" but It's better then it was.

    Good Morning Everyone!

Whoo Wheeeee, have I ever been busy this week! It is pageant season and everyone needs their dresses altered, RIGHT NOW! I haven't hardly stopped moving all week. Sad stuff for a woman who doesn't normally work! (nice for the pocketbook though. Its paying to get two of my machines fixed that I broke doing my own stuff, lol)

So how has everyone else's week gone?

It's the week from a very bad place. Hubby got my bronchitis, the youngest is puking her guts out, I got an ear and throat infection on top of the bronchitis, so it stands to reason I'll pick up the stomach bug too. Am at work, cuz after a while ya just don't care. It's one kid's b-day-her one last year was spent running from a drunk idiot landlord jerkface in the wee hours of the morning so we were gonna make up for it with this one. I feel like someone is probably gonna knock on my door and hand over a "you stink at life and parenting" award.
Either that or a "best sunshiney disposition" award,
    it's really a toss-up between the two.

Isn't that an Olympic event?

Oh my how I feel for you. I so remember those days. They come around less and less as the kids get older PTL.

Well I survived working in my friend's pageant shop for 5 whole hours yesterday. Barely. This morning my knees and especially my ankles are screaming, my back is aching, my shoulders are sore and even my elbows are hurting. Arthritis stinks!

However! Cass and dh still made it off to her tour of the chemistry dept at the college she plans on attending and I'm going to basketball with my youngest, so all is still well with our world. I'll just carry my pillow to cushion the bleachers some!

I need to take a run through the grocery store. I was bad and let my poor babies run out of milk and soda. And then one of the boys said the word Walmart so I'm guessing a trip there is in store as well. They ain't getting payroll out of me this week though!

    Ya'll enjoy your Saturday!

Chemistry...those rooms have their own taste. I always feel like a snake when I walk in, tasting the air.

It feels like it's about to snow out here. Everyone's a bit healthier. Hubby is over the toughest part of the bronchitis, mine is gone but still fighting off the ear infection (refused to take the antibiotics) and everyone else seems good. Yay! Funny how much fog lifts when you're not on your knees in front of a toilet.

    Good Morning Everyone!

I'm lightin' the fire in the fireplace. Its coooooold down here! Especially after having a several days of 60 degree weather.

Then I gotta call the school and cause trouble. They have a stink problem (I'm hearing several versions of the cause from stink bombs to a sewage prob) and my migraine kids are complaining that it makes their heads hurt. Chris is on his second day of a horrid migraine and the smell at school or whatever they were using to clean it up seems to be the source. <bleck>

    Ya'll have a good day!

Smells can be such nasty triggers! The high school out here has that problem. We're working on just not having the kids there at the beginning of next school year. They have roaches too. Ew! I always try to get a classroom on the upper floors so I have less chance of seeing them, and students know which restrooms to avoid! You'd THINK the least that could be done is a safe, healthy environment to learn in. Isn't it funny how they have all this high tech stuff in inner city schools, but can't have a healthy and safe building because of how the money is regulated?

What does your pediatrician say about these migraines? That must be rough for a child to have to endure on a regular basis. Do they do okay with their studies? One of mine had a small series of migraines when she was younger, but that only lasted a couple months and she hasn't had one since. With her, it seemed visual. One time patterned tile in a grocery store set it off!

The stink bombs won out! LOL The admin that I spoke to were NOT amused. 3 bombs on three different days (in a row!). They are promising severe retribution if they catch the culprits.

Thank goodness it wasn't a sewer problem. Stink bombs can be aired out, but I'd have had to keep kids home there was sewage to be cleaned up. Chemicals are bad for my kids.

Gina, they are both on preventative meds which work most of the time. Chris was down because of a combination of a low pressure system that came across us and the smell. We can't do much about the weather. Its a major trigger for them both.

Ended up bringing Cass to the doc this morning. She's had a viral sinus thingy and its trying to turn into a sinus infection and broncitus. They gave her two shots and tomorrow off school.

    At least tomorrow is Friday!

Friday's are fun. I only work half a day tomorrow. Yay!

Our health crisis of the day was my second daughter. She tripped and may have fractured her ankle. They're going to x-ray it again after the swelling goes down to see. Right now they are just calling it a good sprain and have her in a hard molded splint thingie and on crutches, ice, and pain meds.

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

HELLOOOOOOOO...[echo] Man, this place is empty. At least the last person out locked the door.

Hey!, wait...don't. I knew it, that was Sue running out the back door. She must sneak in here and clean up after everybody.

Not much going on here in God's Country. Jordyn [new baby] came down with the RSV virus and that gave everyone some concern with her breathing, but she came out of that and now London has it. We got her seen by a doc and now on some meds so hopefully that will be the end of it.

Surprised my Daughter. She'd evidently forgotten that Papa knew his way around a newborn. I've fed, changed, and rocked Jordyn to sleep quite a bit lately.

Tomorrow is the 24th anniversary of Brenda and my first date, so we're taking a day trip to where we spent our honeymoon. This is the website for where we're spending the night tonight and dining tomorrow.

My Wife doesn't know it yet, but I came across some recipes and Sunday I'm going to make her four genuine Southern dishes [Brenda grew up in SE Kentucky]. I'm making Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Kentucky Spoon Bread, Stir-and-Roll Biscuits, and Banana Bread Cobbler. I think she'll like that.

Have to go let Brenda know, and then pack.

    Hey Cuz!

I'm back to hit and run posting cause my kids keep me running so fast my feet don't even hit the ground! And its pageant season. I've hemmed and altered and fixed zippers and, well, not all of it was pageant stuff. Seems people don't stop needing their daily clothing altered just because my hands are full with pageant/prom stuff. Right now, it is zippers that need replacing. Half my town must have broken their zippers in the last two months! I have at least a half dozen waiting to be replaced at the moment.

On top of that, it is finally turning spring and that means spring cleaning! I cleaned carpets today. Have one more to do tommorrow, when hopefully my knees and hips will have recovered (stupid arthritis!)

Southern food huh? Well I'm a fixin' pork roast, boiled cabbage and some as yet undetermined veggie for supper tonight with a nice cake of banana bread for dessert/tomorrow's breakfast. I saw a recipe for spoon bread just the other day. Might have to stir some up too. Thanks for the idea!

Hey all! Well, I'm doctoring a 9 year old son with a stomach virus but I think we turned the corner. He DOES have a temp now (102) but atleast he's stopped vomiting for now. From 5 am to 11 am, he vomited 12 times. Poor kid spent most of the afternoon passed out. I'm glad he's able to keep a little ginger ale and ice pop down right now.

Because of him being sick, time at work today suffered. I could only work about 2 hours in between running from home to the barn and back home again, so I'll need to head back tomorrow.

Other than that, not much else is new.

    Welcome to Monday Everyone!! :D

Don't you hate having a cheery person on the first Monday after a time change? :D

I have already cleaned up the house, including two full loads of dishes thru the dishwasher, washed 2 loads of laundry AND brought up my check book! I usually don't have this much energy myself after a time change, so check back in later in the week for when it really hits me.

IT is spring break for my younguns this week. I have a houseful of children this morning (and you wonder why I'm up?) and they have plans. One needs shorts so she can go to the beach with friends later on this week, one brought her prom dress for me to alter, one wants a new personalized cosmetic bag, two are doing the video game thing and the last one is just getting a break from home and her mother's cancer treatments. On top of all the kids sewing I have to do, I have stuff of my own to do!

Guess that means I should go get busy(er). Ya'll have a good day/week/whatever. I left a fresh loaf of nanner bread on the counter!

OK MK, if I wasn't tired before, I am now from reading your post!!

Today is going to be a day at home doing homeschooling and chores. My 9 year old was quite sick Friday and it's taking him a while to recover from it. Fortunately homeschooling is not that strenuous so he's doing his work today. :) DH is home too - I think I'm going to encourage him to finish the taxes so we can get money back AND finish the financial aid stuff. My oldest's college wants our tax returns for them to do her package. GRRRRR.

Well, I'll catch in with you all later between load of laundry and scrubbing bathrooms and checking math tests. :)

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 43 degrees and partly cloudy here in God's country, headed for a high of 50 today.

Hasn't been too much going on here other then the day-to-day routine. Everybody's healthy [as of 10:13am that is], The Gkids are in school and London is running around here like a mini tornado [wish I had her energy.]

Jordyn got over her virus and is now growing like a weed. You know it is just sickening to see how Brenda spoils that baby, she knows that I would NEVER do such a thing [not unless I'm alone or with somebody, that is.]

Got errands to run today, and a dental appointment for our youngest grandson for a cleaning. Other than that it should be a quiet day. We do have those every once-in-a-while here, but not too often.

Time to get ready to go into town.
