The list is preposterous. I didn't have to go to the 45 goals of communism, all I had to do was look at Ireland's nine samples:

Capture one or both of the political parties in the US.

Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions, by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

Infiltrate the press.

Gain control of key positions in radio, TV and motion pictures.

Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion.

Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."

Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in schools on the grounds that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

Discredit the American founding fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of "the big picture."

Promote the UN as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one world government, with its own independent armed forces.

The list should be taken with the huge grain of salt that anyone who seeks the above goals is not necessarily, and not likely, a Communist. Or even a socialist, though I would agree that by and large those who favor the above do lean to the Left.

That is the kind of list that a John Bircher would have put together back in the early 60's. Not surprising since Skousen (the author of the list) is/was one of their favorites.

Both capitalism and communism have serious moral issues.

Capitalism, though, if regulated, is generally more moral.
