Is the Covenant with Abraham still in effect now, noah, David?

 

Due to us now having like faith of Abraham in God?

 

We are that due to receiving jesus as the Messiah/Lord, correct? the Promise was the seed to come to save, that was Jesus...

 

Yes, as the OT looked forward to Him coming, we now look back to His first coming, and ahead to His Second!

 

We are in this world, but not of it, so while we teach and preach Jesus, this present world system will not get fixed until the Second Coming of Christ!

 

We will not be ushering in the Kingdom though by the Church, as we are not Kingdom Now in that sense, but main task is to teach/preach Jesus and the Gospel, and also to do good works unto them in his name, but not to transform culture/society, as Jesus needs to come back for that!

 

The covenant promises are all fulfilled by Jesus

God had made the covenant promises, & God himself is keeping them, by Jesus, the eternal Son of God becoming man, born under the Old Covenant, born to save his people from their sins. As Matthew tells us:

Mat. 1:21She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."​

The father of John the baptist prophesied about Jesus at his son's birth: - p.723 -

Luke 1:67 His father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied:
68 "Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come and has redeemed his people.
69 He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David
70 (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago),
71 salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us--
72 to show mercy to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant,
73 the oath he swore to our father Abraham:
74 to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fear
75 in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.​

At the last supper, before his arrest & crucifixion, Jesus as he gave the wine said: "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”

Jesus' words echo the words of Moses in Ex. 24:

7 Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded, "We will do everything the LORD has said; we will obey."
8 Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said, "This is the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words." ​

The Old Covenant relies on the obedience of the people – and failed.

The New Covenant relies on the obedience of Jesus Christ, who triumphed gloriously. He lived in perfect obedience, and when he died he shed his own blood, the blood of the New Covenant. All who believe in Jesus as Lord & Saviour are saved by that New Covenant that cannot be broken.

 

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Rom 5:9.10

Was his life, the very soul of him, in that blood he obediently shed for us?

Is his life, that we shall be being saved (vi Fut Pas 1 Pl) by, also in the blood of him? Or does that life come from his resurrection from the dead ones?

If Christ is not resurrected has his blood saved us from anything or are we, as 1 Cor 15:17 says, without faith and still in our sins?

What kind of life saves one and was Christ given that life at a specific time?

For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; John 5:26 Is Christ speaking like a prophet like unto Moses here?
Romans 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
Acts 13:34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
1 Cor 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

Is not the death and the resurrection and the receiving of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit to be shed on men the fulfillment of the covenant God told Abraham? In thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.

Is the faith through the Holy Spirit was received through Jesus Christ, the obedient death and resurrection to glory of him?

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:14
he who is believing in me, according as the Writing said, Rivers out of his belly shall flow of living water;' and this he said of the Spirit, which those believing in him were about to receive; for not yet was the Holy Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified. John 7:38,39

What faith was heard of by which came the Spirit?

 

We are to preach/teach jesus, and also called to do good works in His name , but am just reacting against the Kingdom Now junk/reconstructionism. theonomy etc!

 

There is but One Covenant of Grace though....

 

I know that the Kingdom is present hereein a limited fashion, but that we will not have it established in full until, Jesus returns, and I was referencing Kingdom Now Charasmatic junk version...
