Back on 6 Jan 2021, it was determined that the NG was needed in DC.
BUT
who is, was, should be in charge of the NG?
Has been suggested that the CG of Northern Command be in charge?
Or should it be the Mayor of DC?
Population of the city is 705,749, which is more than Wyo & Vermont.
Alaska and South Dakota is only slightly larger than DC.
So should the mayor be considered a Governor as far as the DC Army and AF NG?

And as I mentioned before, DC has a larger population than 2 states - Should the Guard of those states be run only by the military?
How about this - so the Washington has a mayor.
Should DC then elect a governor? -

From some accounts, the need was known well prior to Jan 6, but was dismissed by certain Dems, including those in charge of DC.
There has been a general pattern of Dems assisting rioting and overrunning the border. Harris and Biden promised more of it.
Allowing anything new that supposedly helps them solve the problems they are creating will be a mistake. -
The DC national guard reports to the POTUS. I'm good with that.
