Eve and her tempetation

I've been off the opinion (and, as you said, there's no scripture for this) that Eve was already looking at the fruit, and wondering. It follows the pattern laid out in the New testament where it says, "Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed."

I think Satan, rather than presenting a new idea to Eve, was simply building upon the curiosities she already had.

Assuming that humans thought then as they thought now, if say a minimum of several weeks. Essentially, because Adam and Eve had a whole, brand new world to explore. She wouldn't have given that tree a second thought until paradise had started to become mundane.

Once everything became rote, then her eyes would have started looking at the tree, and she would have been wondering about that one experience she hadn't had yet.

At that point, Satan could have just waited for the curiosity to fester, until he saw the opportune time to strike, in a moment of weakness.

So, if say a minimum of several weeks, but possibly much, much longer.

And obviously, these are just my thoughts.

Scripture doesn't say, so it is useless speculating,

 

I disagree wholeheartedly with that attitude. Speculation, as long as it is understood as such, at the very least is pleasant conversation, already pulling it out of the realm of useless.

Secondly, it can provide an insight or a way of thinking previously unthought of, and can lead to a better understanding of what scripture has revealed.
