Congrats to the Florida Gators on a hard-fought championship game.

While I wish the game had gone the other way, Florida played well.

IMO, they should play for the BCS Championship.

    Congrats to the Gators.

I am convinced that if the Razorbacks had a decent passing game that they would have had an excellent chance to play for the BCS championship against Ohio State.

Anyway, a good ten game win streak for the Hogs. It's a shame it all fell apart in the last two games.

I just wish that Nutt would allow Malzahn to install the spread offense and develop a college level passing attack to compliment their great running attack.

Give a little credit to Coach Houston Nutt for helping out the Gators, Casy Dicks's passing game was absolutely horrible.
Gators won against a tough Arkansas team but too many mistakes were made.
I would be the last one to say that Nutt needs to leave Arkansas and after agonizing over a winable game I have to conclude that Nutts best days are behind him.

A sizable portion of the Hog Nation do say so.

Personally, I would be satisfied if he kept his hands off of the offense and turned it over to Malzahn so that he can install a passing offense.

Nutt had a passing attack his first two years at Arkansas. I don't know why he changed after 1999. It's like he wants to avoid installing any modern pass plays.

The offense needs to be turned over entirely to Malzahn and the quarterbacking duties need to be turned over to Mustain for the bowl game. Other than an injury to Mustain or mop up duty, Casey Dick should never take another meaningful snap as a Razorback quarterback.

Dick did better this week, IMO. Florida's coverage was good. He worked with what he had. When Mustain went in for the QB draw he nearly dropped the ball...if he had been in the game, everything would have collapsed. The game was too much pressure for a freshman QB.

I think Arkansas did a wonderful job considering McFadden's ankle twist early in the game. McFadden simply wasn't a factor tonight. Arkansas simply cannot beat teams on the level of Florida without McFadden at 100%, period.

This is why we MUST work on the passing game. With a one-dimensional offense, when you lose your main weapon, you lose the game.

I totally disagree. After a whole season has been played Mustain is, in essence, a sophomore. I think it was sheer idiocy for Nutt to not turn over the reins of the offense to Malzahn and the quarterbacking duties to Mustain.

Did you see his nervousness on the QB draw?

Where Nutt made his mistake was not this week but last week. Mustain should have gone in against LSU. If he had, he would have had the rest of that game to get used to the pressure, and going into the SEC title game, he might have had a better chance.

Did you see those awful passes thrown by Dick? That's why so many passes were having to be thrown by non-quarterbacks.

Well, at least we are showing to the rest of the board why the Razorback Nation is a divided house. :)

I won't dispute it. Dick was having a bad game, but I think his game was better last week's (which isn't saying much).

I think Mustain should have started the game--i.e. before the pressure of being down by 17 points kicked in. Telling a freshman QB to crawl out of that kind of hole is a tall order.

The Hogs actually had the lead at one point in the second half. Mustain could have been inserted then if you had misgivings about putting him in while the Hogs were behind.

    But there's the problem...

Should you switch QBs when you've just scored 21 unanswered points?

Yes. The two touchdowns in the second half were set up or scored by the defense. It wasn't due to Casey Dick's quarterbacking.

Arkansas didn't lose the game, the Gators won it.

Speaking of Mustain...what is the deal? My inlaws mentioned some kind of controversy between his mom and Nutt, and that Nutt might be trying to run Mustain off by not playing him hardly at all. They are saying that Mitch will probably transfer after this year. Did I miss a lot or what?

If this is true, then I think this is hard headedness on Nutt's part not to do what is best for the team.
