True to form Naz spouts-off with no documentation. For just one example (I'm pressed for time) Naz claims that Hort was friends with Aleister Crowley (1875-1947). But Hort died in 1892. That means that the sinister Crowley influenced Hort when the former was a teen of 17 or even younger. What tripe Naz types!

Naz makes some absurd claims as usual.

He claims that "W.& H. were h_ _ _s_ _uals,like all graduates of Cambridge and Oxford in the 1880's."

Naz apparently doesn't know how extremely wierd he sounds. All grads, really? Every single one of them --you did a personal investigation into the s_ _ _ual proclivities of each and every one?! You are beyond hope of recovery Naz.

And did you know that W.& H. graduated in the 1840's,not the 1880's? Or did that slip through the sieve of your research activities?
    __________________________________________________________

Naz says Westcott was a theological agnostic. Par for the course,he offers no reputable documentation.

    __________________________________________________________

True to his form he makes the outlandish statement that Hort was enslaved to the occult.

Methinks Naz is enslaved to some habits on the BB and elsewhere that do not represent and edifying and truthful presence of mind.

I'm sorry, you're right. I was inaccurate here; let me clarify.

I would say that graduates of Oxford and Cambridge
from about 1840 ONWARD are all homos.

I would say further that graduates of every modern university today,
must under pressure of academic failure and unemployment,
bow to the 'god' of homosexuality, lesbianism, feminism, and evolutionary atheism.

This effectively makes all such degrees, diplomas and acreditations worthless.

Sorry I didn't make that clear from the start.

You are so ungifted at reading comprehension,
that you have read "agnostic" for gnostic.

If reading glasses don't help, I suggest practicing reading and recognizing words. There are drills for this purpose, to help foreigners with their 'second language' skills.

Yes, its quite outlandish, in that I did not include
the entire hierarchy of the Church of England, since 1810.

Reading through Hort's letters, there are a number of reoccuring themes. He was deeply into Plato and Greek philosophy. Indeed he wrote more about Plato than anyone else. Another reoccurring theme was his involvement with Christian "socialism" and "communism." He hated the United States and stated in his letters that he hoped the civil war would result in destroying the country. He openly stated that he could see nothing but evil of its existence from its beginning. He was deeply in awe and influenced by Dr. Frederick Denison Maurice whose father was the Pastor of the Unitarian Church in South Gloucestershire. Dr. Maurice denied eternal punishment of the wicked in hell.

Well, you have modified your previous statement wherein you said all. But you are still as extreme as ever in your outrageous charges.

    Ha Ha Ha!

And how do you define the term? A mystic secret knowledge? Please substantiate your claim.

The entire hierarchy of the Church of England was enslaved by the occult? Why in the world do you say such foolish things? Do you think that anyone other than Dr.W will ever take you seriously?

This thread is all over the place due to Naz's agenda. The OP started out with the oxymoron of Calvin somehow being related to Unitarianism --as absurd as that idea is --now we are into all sorts of junk.

Regarding Calvin, and his theology, I will give a hearty AMEN to what you posted there.

Regarding Calvin being a murderer, I have encountered those charges before, even to the extent that he was a vicious murderer...but I never did look into it to any great extent.

I never felt the need to, as I had already left the Calvinism camp. His ridiculous theology was what turned me away.

Since This Thread Refuses To Be Closed Down...

Giving a virtual AMEN to anything Naz says is a bit unwise.

Calvin produced a great deal of good fruit in his life and his legacy has extended down through the years.

You certainly would not be wasting your time reading a sampling of his works. You would be spiritually edified.

Then you should not repeat vicious rumors --otherwise known as lies.

That makes no sense. You haven't read any of his works but have declared theology to be ridiculous. How can you leave his camp if you aren't knowledgeable about his works?

I wouldnt know. I havent had much interaction with him

    Me...

I have read more than a sampling of Calvin. I once was a calvinist.

    Me again...

    Me...

I merely posted that I agreed with the original posters view of Calvins greatly flawed and and false theology.

    Me...

    It makes complete sense

I have read of his theology. as I once was a calvinist. Had several books, including Intstitues.

As a result of giving calvinism every opportunity to prove itself true, when put to the test of Gods scriptures, I found it to be a rediculous theology.

That's highly doubtful. And it's Calvinist.

You are agreeing with someone who has never read any of Calvin's works? You are in agreement that people should not bother to read his works? You give that sentiment an AMEN?!

If you claim that most of Calvin's works are "greatly flawed" you you would be quite heterodox. Strong Arminians,if they are indeed Christians, would agree with the majority of what he wrote. Are you in favor of open theism? On a theological spectrum you are way out there on a flimsy limb.

    What's absurd is your take.

And you can't even spell the word Institutes. Can you tell me anything in his Institutes that you agreed with?

On the contrary, millions through the ages have found that Calvinism is biblically sound. The Lord has blessed Calvinist through the centuries and multitudes have been brought to a saving knowledge of the Lord through the ministry (oral and written) of countless Calvinists.

True faith is not in a systematic theology, it's in our Lord
