Sometimes I will open "post a reply" and just sit there starring at the screen. On a serious post it takes me forever because I try to word it so not to offend, but still get my point across. And hey, sometimes even a whisper can tick some people off.

Have you ever called in sick, felt better and gone to the mall or done something other than stay home?

I don't want to say never - I've been working over 32 years and I'm may have done just what you asked.

My philosophy is - if you are too sick to have fun - you might just as well go to work. :D

About three years ago - I took off two months from my secular job to have surgery (only took one week off from preaching). I had a blast - after I started feeling better (nothing serious - just a hernia). Read lots of books - spent hours on-line (E-bay)[before I knew anything of BB]. I do think I'll be able to adjust to retirement - when the time comes.

How long have you been at your present job?

It'll be two years on June 4th.

Q: Have you ever switched careers?

I've never had a career, I just had jobs. And, I have had several different types in my lifetime usually working around my kids ages and schedules. I have held down three at one time before (they were all part-time).

    Pudding or Jello?

I make homemade pudding or jello about three times a week. We have it for dessert and hubby takes it in his lunch. Much cheaper than buying those prepared pudding and jello cups.

Do you usually cook supper/dinner or eat out?

Not until I saw your post in The Coffee Shop. :D

Does this make people crazy like a full moon?

Well, people have been acting pretty "Abby Normal" lately. Seems that it would make sense. Weird how God created the world, it's people and the moon and stars to interact isn't it? They say that the moon effects the tides. and since people are basically a bag of salt water...it effects us too somewhat. I don't pretend to really understand it...but if a full moon makes people aggressive, it seems an eclipse would do something too.

Do you have trouble saying "no" to people?

(I know more babies are born during a full moon than at any other time--maybe the eclipse is where this extra anxiety is coming from)

Yes! I have a problem saying "no" and I'm not sure why because I am pretty extroverted. Maybe it's because I feel bad if I can't 'fix' everything.

Are you going to stay up and watch the eclipse?

    What eclipse?
Bad things happen to me during eclipses.

When is it supposed to be?

I use to work in a mental institution and we didn't need a calendar to tell it was a full moon!

We just had a tornado warning for our town, but it passed us. We got the rain, wind and hail.

Anyone else having bad weather tonight?

Hey Sue, I worked in a mental institution as a Psych Tech when I was first married. Had to help with Shock Treatments. It was a private Catholic hospital. It's now called "Mercy Center for Health Care Purposes" and is in Aurora, Il.

Our weather is overcast and rain for the next 6 days but so far no storms! Praise the Lord you're safe!

Just chilly - I certainly wish it would get warm and stay warm. I've had enought of these early spring/late fall temperatures.

How many times do you kiss your spouse good-night before you go to sleep?

Hey Sue, can I borrow $20?

How many times do you kiss your spouse good-night before you go to sleep?

A couple of times a year, give or take.

How often do you replace your toothbrush?

(Sure Gib! Do you need a new toothbrush?) :D

I buy a new toothbrush everytime mine falls in the toilet.

Do you have gobs of ballpoint pens in drawers and other places that no longer work?

What, are you mad? Christmas?!? It's only mid-May!

That would be a no. Okay, to be fair, I do sock away about a hundred fifty bucks a month for purchases like birthday gifts, holiday gifts and the like, so you could say I'm already planning for Christmas, but not consciously.

Does anyone really start planning for Christmas 7 months in advance?

Kelly, with 16 grandchildren, I start planning for Christmas in January!!!!!!! (There are also 16 birthdays during the year to consider)! That's not counting my four children and their spouses! OUCH!

I am taking my nine-year-old grandson to a 'kids fishing derby' Saturday.

Does anyone else here go fishing?
