I have always had only one set of china at a time. What I have now is 20 year-old set of Corelle. I am looking for a new set of dishes and the old set will go to one of my kids, if they want them---if not, I will donate them to a thrift shop.

Anyone get silverware/flatware by saving Betty Crocker coupons?

    No - we haven't personally.

It seems to me that when I was a kid (that would be calculated by taking my mother's age and subtracting my age and dividing the difference by four or five) that the ladies of the church saved them to get things for the church.

    Do you coupon?

I do most of my shopping at Aldi's and they don't accept coupons, but I use coupons for name brand items that I buy elsewhere.

Do you go to specific grocery store when they are having a sale on something or do you stick to the same one regardless?

Sometimes we go to different stores to take advantage of the sales. My mother does that - and because we take her shopping now - I guess that you could say we also do that.

I like Aldis - they know how to market themselves. Most everything there is as good as, and much less expensive than the store brands at the major supermarkets in our area.

Example - a box of saltines costs $0.59/pound box at Aldis - at Wegmans (Chain in New York State) the Wegmans' brand of saltines cost at least $1.50/pound box.

(PS - Sue - thanks for posting the spell checker link. )

Do you like the store brand equivilant of DDP?
(I think they are the only diet beverage that tastes anything like the real thing!!)

I don't think I've even seen a store brand version of DDP! I saw "Dr. Slice" and "Diet Dr. Slice" back around 10 years ago (Pepsi's pathetic attempt to make their own DP so they could stop distributing DP - somehow I get the feeling it's one of the more popular choice in a Pepsi machine, without it being a Pepsi product) but neither was any good.

Q: Do you keep soda in your refrigerator? Not as opposed to keeping it, say, in the garage, but do you buy it to drink at home, or just when you're out? If you buy it at all, that is.

We drink it at home - we take it with us when we travel. It's usually less expensive when purchased in bulk - than single cans from a machine.

(Walmart markets Dr. Thunder and Diet Dr. Thunder - generic substitutes for Dr. Pepper and DDP - I think it tastes pretty good.)

    Pepsi or Coke?

Niether of these for us.We don`t buy fizzy drinks because I make lemonade, ginger`beer` and, at this time of the year elderflower fizzy drink. We do use a good bit of pure fruit juice though.

    Do you make `home made` pop(fizzy drinks)

I have never even heard of fizzy pop and didn't know you could make homemade pop of any kind at home.
