    I'm making an early declaration.

He may not even run, but he's got my support if he does.:applause:

His messy personal life would doom his campaign from the get go. If you want to support a conservative this early, carpro, then I suggest that you get behind Senator George Allen of Virginia.

Never in a million years would I vote for Newt Gingrich, if that's you who mean by Newt.

He left his first wife when she had cancer, so that makes him a zero in my book as far as points in anything.

I was in GA when Newt came to power - he's a mean guy.

    Senator Allen has already apologized.

Has Newt apologized for wanting to talk to his first wife about his divorcing her while she laid in the hospital with cancer?

Has Newt apologized for cheating on his second wife with a member of his staff?

Has Newt apologized to those who believe in family values when he made a laughingstock of the movement in the 1990s?

Right you are. Now I am back to nobody to vote for. So, I guess I'll just vote against the Democrat in the 2008 election. Even if I have to vote Newt or another George.

It's just a crying shame that Americans aren't given better choices by the two main political parties. I'm hoping I'm raptured before the 2008 election. It's all muck and mire from both sides. Where are the Statesmen? Where are the heroes? Americans are hungry for a HERO!! (not a sandwich) Without vision, the people perish. And so does the nation.

I like Newt politicaly. I would like to find his politics in a person with morals and integraty.

But when you put Newt up against Hillary or Kerry, Newt looks pretty good.

It seems like there are no more Ronald Reagans. I really do think he was the last John Wayne. I'm sure I just set myself up for more rotten tomatos.

I'd settle for honest and competent, right now.

Hillary is probablyi wearing a "Newt for President" button. That would sew it up for her.

The one guy in American politics, whose personal life is sleazier than her husband's.

I thought this subject would get the juices flowing.

Here's betting Newt would eat them both alive in a debate.

It's far more likely that he would be the only Republican running whose past would come close to being as polarizing as Hillarys.

They are both extremely flawed and bring a lot of baggage with them.

But he's just as smart as she is, far more articulate and quick on his feet, knows how to map out an agenda and bring it about, and most importantly...

He scares democrats to death. They do not want to see him rise from the ashes. He is the one that made them a minority and they know it.

    It would be interesting.;)

I don't know much about his politics but Allen is in a little trouble right now, I believe.

In this particular bruhaha, he has apologized...repeatedly, and therein in lies one problem I have with him already.

One apology is enough. Now he's groveling. Groveling is not good practice for being POTUS.:(

You know, he probably wouldn't be the worst - couldn't be worse than the present one.

Of course, Kerry never visited his hospitalized wife and thrust a divorce agreement at her. His church never had to take up a collection for his abandoned family.

Perhaps that's what they mean by Newt "looking pretty good." He didn't waste any money on a family he no longer wanted.
