It's almost impossible to watch anything these days that doesn't have cussing.

We do not have regular TV. We do have a DVD player that has a feature which mutes the swearing out if there is any. That is such a nice feature.

would anyone read a Bible that modernised the searwords in it?
like the time where Saul yelled at his son...um what was it....oh nevermind....
I really don't get the point of swearing....I don't feel any more "release" or whatever supposed to happen if I hit something or did nothing at all...

I've turned off a few programs and returned a few videos to Blockbuster after watching only a few minutes due to way too much language. A great example is "Fargo".

It's pretty sad that people have to resort to that type of speech to provide "entertainment"

Get a TV guardian. I am still amazed that more Christians have not purchased these. They cost about $100 and you can get them at most Christian Book stores including Lifeway.

It reads the close caption line and mutes the volume before they cuss. It is not perfect but I love ours. I could not let my kids watch even children’s programming without it.

No TV in the house. We watches movies on the computer, and are very picky about what we rent. Even then, we have turned 'em off and took 'em back.

    TV guardian eh?

well, when they blot out the "not-so-nice" words... dont you tend to think to yourself (even for the kids shows...) something like "hmm, i wonder what they said there?" ??

the following is out of a song (granted its hip-hop - Flame of Crossmovement Records)

the song is titled "gotta notice"
    here it is. check it:

Verse 2: See I can only watch T.V. to a certain extent/ until I feel an urgent need to repent/ cause even the commercial now are all converted and perverted with sin/ and you might slip if you ain’t conversing with Him/ cause when I saw myself/ dawg I wanted to saw myself/ immediately it grieved me and wanted to insult myself/ whatever made me think to exalt myself/ now He’s gleaning and cleaning me and now I’m salt myself/ so what we living all reckless for/ ever seen a Buick with a Lexus door/ that kind of whip will perplex a boy/ that’s how it is when you don’t consider what the text is for/ I ask the Lord to correct a boy/ and constantly making my calling and election sure/ until we die we should rep the Lord/ for the same reason Paul got arrested for yo

    there ya have it.

Yes sometimes you do, especially when it does not seem like any profanity occured but you get used to it. Set on its strickest level it takes out a lot of words that occur in regular conversation. Like "ball" for example. Some kids will be playing baseball on a movie and one will yell "Throw me the ball" and it will mute.

Also with the religious words on max it mutes the words God and Jesus so watching your favorite TV preachers can be interesting.

Even with its imperfections I love mine.

I'll go with the majority on these! My wife however won't watch that long. Why do they have to put all that in anyway?
