Wonderful!
So all people who ever lived have been declared righteous.
How can they 'remain under the law' when they have been declared righteous?
But doesn't the Holy Spirit come into this somewhere?
'Unless one has been born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God' (John 3:5).
'Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His' (Romans 8:7-10). And the Spirit appears to be in the gift of God.
'Blessed be
the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead' (1 Peter 1:3).
Who has begotten us?
God has.
We did not beget ourselves.
Who is defined as 'us'?
Peter himself and the people he's writing to, the 'elect' (v.2).[/QUOTE]
"In Christ", yes.....But this isn't universalism....Not all will see their need of Christ-righteousness.
They will reject Christ because essentially they are righteous in their own eyes.
Because they have persistently and ultimately rejected Christ.
To reject Christ is to remain under the curse:
"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. ... Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree" Gal 3:10,13
The Holy Spirit is not co-redeemer.
Christ is the redeemer.
The Holy Spirit's Job is to convince you of your need of Christ's righteousness through your conscience, but if you harden your heart against the Spirit of God and reject Christ your righteousness you are finished - you remain "under law" and in the judgment you will stand before God and His law without an intercessor (Christ).
You are taching unorthodox doctrine here, as the orthodox view has always been held that the death of Jeson
only reconciled back to God those who received Hm as Messiah/Lord, not all sinners! That is Univeralsim.
Yes, but not all will accept this truth.
Hence some will be lost.
God forces no one to be saved.
And once you accepted Christ's complete work, God will not make you stay saved.
You can reject Him and be lost.
You have salvation only as long as your faith remains in Him, but if you apostatize you are done...
If God forces some to be saved and others lost then "the saved" cannot be lost.
That's classic Calvinism.
Of course this is easily refuted:
Heb 6:4 "For it is impossible in the case of those who have once been enlightened, tasted the heavenly gift, become partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 tasted the good word of God and the miracles of the coming age, 6 and then have committed apostasy, to renew them again to repentance, since they are crucifying the Son of God for themselves all over again and holding him up to contempt."
Heb 3:12 "See to it, brothers and sisters (believers), that none of you has an evil, unbelieving heart that forsakes the living God.13 But exhort one another each day, as long as it is called “Today,” that none of you may become hardened by sin’s deception. 14 For we have become partners with Christ, if in fact we hold our initial confidence firm until the end."
For it is impossible in the case of those who have once been enlightened, tasted the heavenly gift, become partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 tasted the good word of God and the miracles of the coming age, 6 and then have committed apostasy, to renew them again to repentance, since they are crucifying the Son of God for themselves all over again and holding him up to contempt."
We are not once saved always saved.
We are saved from "the curse of the law" (the 2nd death or hell) as long as we keep our faith in Christ.
But if we harden our hearts and become deceived we can kiss heaven and eternal life goodbye.
The Gospel can be found in its perfect entirety, perfectly explained in the GOSPELS.
That's why they are called the Gospels.
MATTHEW, MARK, LUKE and JOHN.
The bible is not one book, even the word bible is "the books"
PLURAL.
Each gospel is perfect by itself with the entirety of Christianity contained within.
Of course some folks start with a distorted romans and swear they wouldn't have a clue what Christianity was about until without a distorted romans.
No one reads through the gospels and figures elect only, once saved always saved nor faith alone.
That idea can only be implanted afterwards by distorting the letters.
Any other person would know what is going on right after reading Matthew.
You're misunderstanding of 5 verses in the book of Hebrews does not equate to refuting Calvinism. That you don't understand the teaching of the passage is evident and you don't understand the biblical salvation if you believe it can be lost.
The silent should not be mistaken for believing that what you posted teaches anything different it was just a polite way of letting others try to answer you and offer correction before your error is exposed.
