I partially agree.
I have derived my thinking from Systematic Theology, but in recent years have tended to gravitate more to the text itself over systematically derived doctrines in certain areas (at least as a starting point). The reason is that I have come to believe that essential (or at least the most fundamental) doctrines are stated in the text of Scripture rather than systematically derived. That, of course, leaves open to what is "fundamental" and to what degree any doctrine is by definition "systematic". And that is a personal belief (since systematic theology cannot - by definition - be objectively proven via the text of Scripture I lean towards the idea that essential Christian doctrines are....I guess more on the surface....of Scripture.
Where I disagree is why I am not taken seriously. I suspect that part has more to do with my ineptitude and generally argumentative nature. :)

Also, you are aware of this. -

Do you believe that Jesus taught in the synagogues proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom (Matthew 4:23)?
Do you believe that Philip preached the Kingdom of God (Acts 8)?
Do you believe that Paul was actually stoned by the Jews for proclaiming this gospel of the Kingdom of God (Acts 14)?
Do you believe that Paul boldly proclaimed the Kingdom of God in the synagogues (Acts 19)?
Do you believe that God performed miracles through Paul as testimony concerning the gospel of the Kingdom of God (Acts 19)?
Do you believe that Paul’s ministry in Rome was preaching the kingdom of God (Acts 28)? -

This is one gospel- the "gospel of the Kingdom of God".
Dan 2:37-44 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold. And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
Luke 11:1,2 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
Luke 19:11,12 And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
Dan 2 : 44-45 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
Daniel 7:3-8 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it. And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Luke 19:11,12 And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
Dan 7:13,14 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Is that, in bold, the Gospel Jesus came to proclaim? Does it require, for that which has been born of flesh and blood, to be changed, in order to inherit and to be, the King thereof?
Consider what is said by Paul who preached the kingdom of God everywhere he went. Acts 17
2,3 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.
V 7 Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus. -

I do believe Justification is a very important doctrine. But no more important than the gospel itself.
Why are you so opposed to the gospel of the Kingdom of God?
What do you make of the Bible's claim that Jesus and the Apostles all taught the "gospel of the Kingdom of God"?
What do you make of the Bible stating that Paul proclaimed the "gospel of the Kingdom of God"? -
-
I believe Paul was speaking about both. We are justified individually by faith, but at the same time this justification is more than the individual as it is "in Christ". We can't divorce the doctrine of Justification from the gospel without the doctrine loosing at least part of its meaning.
Follow this passage - Romans 8:29–30 : For those He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers. And those He predestined, He also called; and those He called, He also justified; and those He justified, He also glorified.
Our justification is by faith but it is also inseparable from us being conformed to the image of Christ and Christ as the Firstborn of many brothers.
We cannot even consider justification apart from it being God-centered, otherwise we error. -

Good post. You are thinking correctly here. The biblical concept of KINGDOM is a main thread through all 66 books.
Dan 2 : 44-45 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. JonShaff,
Hello JohnS
Do you believe it is only spiritual?
Do you think it has any expression in the physical world?
If it is found in a person's heart would it not of necessity have to work itself out in the natural physical world?
Does scripture portray it as an abstract, non-visible Kingdom?
While the kingdom "comes without observation" nevertheless do we see the effects of the Kingdom on believers in a way that should convict unbelievers of their accountability to God? -

And IMHO we are awaiting - Luke 19:15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
