Just needed another cuppa - the rugby match between Italy and France is a bit boring. Good to see you all.

CJ, you probably should not have pointed this out because someone may close some of them!

I'm trying to learn to double post like Dan. I am working on my 4000!

I am glad the Tea Room is open because it is so warm and friendly in here. It is nice to have a comfortable place, isn't it? I have been drinking more tea lately.

I'm just stopping by for a while because I need to be busy with other things today.

Granny, it is a lovely day here today too. The wind the last two days has made me edgy.

I did have a lovely painting day, this week. I have three paintings started, but the wonderful thing is I have the disk for my scanner. It has been lurking in the computer desk for 6 months. Now I can place some of my paintings on the internet.

Got to go. Good to see you all this morning!

Ed is having trouble with his firewall so he may use my computer...Can't let him use my name when he is in the version section.

    I can't imagine why. It's such a friendly place.

Hi, rsr! Have you been enjoying our weather?

We haven't had any ice or snow to even count. Have you?

What about CJ getting all that snow in Ft. Worth?

I guess I just thought I would do other things. I'm listening to Ed rant about his computer.

The funny thing is that sometimes I can repair the problem and he is the computer guru!

I wouldn't worry about that too much, Thankful. I think I remember Walls saying that she didn't get down to the "lower threads" much. I'm sure others don't either...too many to choose from before anyone gets THIS far down!

My firewall problem must have been
    a transient

I'm relieved about my income tax.
I should get enough from the State
to pay what i owe on the Federal.

    Perfect day: sunshine 48ºF already
(it is still winter) -- but the best
is the 5MPH wind (as opposed to the
30+ the last couple or three days).

it is so warm and friendly in here.

That's exactly what attracted me here to begin with! Now BroJim has taken a break & I'm afraid it will fade away~oh I hope not!

I've always wanted to paint...I do a little freehand-love landscapes, esp. those with mountains, woods, a cabin, critters. I wish I was a hermit.

Granny, I used to have that wish also, but when I had the opportunity to be a hermit, I didn't like it. Now if I had, had the internet back then, I might have survived as a hermit, but then I really wouldn't have been a hermit because I couldn't miss church

I think I like people too much. People are so fascinating, aren't they?

Oh yes indeedy about the people! I meant I'd like to be a "hermit" & live there in my "picture"...mountains, woods, streams, cabin, critters...but have LOTS of folks stopping by...every now & then!

    Hi everyone.

Many thanks for your kindesses and prayers. I needed a few quiet days. Sort of like going into the wilderness alone with God. I had a serious invite to pastor a church, and as much as I would love to pastor again, I have to consider my state of health and age. All things being considered and after much prayer and fasting, I decided it was not of God at this time. I will continue to preach as required and counsel where I am needed, but not to leading a church assembly.

Yes, this is a quiet and peaceful place, and I am very pleased that few have adorned it with their loving presence. May our blessed Lord continue to bless you as you bless Him.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Blessings to you, Jim.

I'd have a real hard time being a hermit. I enjoy watching people.
I loved doing taxes for several years just because each client was so different.
Yesterday my sister-law and I sat in the local coffeehouse for a couple of hours, talking and people-watching. Italian sodas with whipped cream and amaretto flavor are great!
I am about to depart to an antique auction, and then to watch one son play in the church basketball league.

Beautiful, sunny day, about 55 degrees.

Often happens to us. It is a bizarre feature of the OK tax code that while the actual amount due at the end of the year is far less than federal, the withholding amounts required can be far higher during the year.

Jim, It is good to see you back. We need you here to minister to us. It takes a wise person to face our limitations. There are many things that I would like to do, but I'm not as young as I used to be.

Wasn't it wonderful that the church asked you to be their pastor? Maybe that was God's way to let you know that you are still very much needed in His service.

You always brighten my day. Keep up the good work!

One day, you will learn to wear your foil hat, Brother Ed.

I guess I need a foil hat, too. LadyEagle, where can I get one cheap?

Something hit my computer and would not let the Baptist Board in. Now I can handle it not letting my soap opera message board in, but NOT the Baptist Board.

I had to shut it down for awhile and now it is working again.

Well it is obvious, I'm posting!!!!

It is wonderful how the Lord leads in these modern times, IF we bend our ear in His direction and pay mind. I believe very much in fasting and prayer, and the still small voice of God that overwhelms us when we seek His face.

I don't advertise these things beforehand. It was always my thought that people can influence us, and I wanted none of that.

Now, how did I reach a conclusion? Well, I found two young men, able and qualified, to consider the post. One has been invited to preach for the call and I am certain will be their pastor. God didn't slam the door in my face, but opened a door for me to see, and give guidance.

What a brilliant God we serve.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Jim, thank you so much for sharing that. I especially glad that you referred to the still small voice of God. There is a debate in one of the threads now about hearing the voice of God.

Well, I just got attached again and bumped off the Baptist Board. Do you know if anyone else is having this problem? We have contacted the Webmaster to see if he knows what the problem could be.

    Betty,

I haven't heard of anyone having that problem on the BB. Sorry that you are experiencing this. It can be quite unpleasant.

    Cheers,

    Jim
