People using words differently.
Oh, I am guilty.
To.me, narrow minded and close minded are not the same thing.
I am not close minded, but I am narrow minded.
To me without the concept of Christ providing a penal substitution there is no gospel.
To me, with a limited atonement no one can be sure of being saved.
It goes to how each of us understand the ideas.

Language can be a barrier especially in written media.
To me, Penal Substitution (something I believed most of my life) is a corruption of the gospel of Jesus Christ and places human philosophy over the Word of God.
I cannot understand how a person can be saved while believing Penal Substitution because it changes the gospel to such an extent. BUT I know they can because I was. So I chalk it up to my Catholic observations (people saved despite error).
Limited Atonement is not an issue with me because it only works within Penal Substitution as its logical conclusion. -
I have found that different theological systems try to isolate words into categorical boxes and it causes me to overthink too much.
