Our church hosted this group, a men's quartet plus accompanist, from the Baptist College of Ministry this past Sunday, and the singing and preaching were wonderful. It was their first visit to Maine, with two more presentations in nearby churches Sunday night and tonight (Wednesday). Mostly traditional hymns were presented, like 'Rejoice the Lord is King' and 'Be Thou My Vision', and there was a Viola/Cello duet as well. One of the quartet members preached at Sunday School (it was his birthday, too) and another at the morning service, and the messages were excellent as well.
They had some music and literature available, and I was able to purchase JoJ's biography of his grandfather, John R. Rice.
It was a very enjoyable morning and a fine testimonial for the college.
