I agree with Dr Betters that we'll know our saved loved-ones in heaven, and as he said even loved ones we've never met on Earth we will immediately know in heaven.

I know an old mountain preacher though who said that he believed that God would remove from our mind the memories of loved ones who refused to repent and turn to Christ. He believed folk would ache for lost loved ones in heaven and since agony and aching in heaven is likely not possible, God must remove our memories of them.

Abraham was recognized by the rich man, Luke 16:23-24. At Jesus' transformation His disciples recognized Mose and Elijah.

I use to lead this song in church and we sung it often... I believe this song and our saved loved ones are in God hands and because of that I firmly believe there will be No Tears In Heaven... Enjoy this true acapella song... Brother Glen:)

I believe that we will. Jesus was recognized by his disciples. Moses and Elijah were recognized, even though they were not resurrected yet.

"What do we know about our bodies? Well, Christ’s resurrection body is the prototype for ours. We know that he was recognizable. His features were the same. The great majority of time that he is seen in the recorded appearances by the disciples, they knew immediately who he was.

Now a lot of people focus on the two or three times when he wasn’t immediately recognized, but there were special conditions in those cases. First, there was Mary at the tomb. It is dark; it is early in the morning. A modest woman doesn’t look into the eyes of a man whom she doesn’t know or she thinks she doesn’t know, and that is why she thinks it is the gardener. And Jesus her Lord is dead, and she knows that. So, of all times, you could easily explain her not immediately recognizing him. And as soon as he says her name, she recognizes his voice (see John 20:15–16).

Likewise, on the Emmaus Road some people say, “Well, look, they didn’t even recognize Jesus. So he must not have looked like he did.” But actually, in Luke 24:16, we are told “their eyes were kept from recognizing him.” And as soon as “their eyes were opened . . . they recognized him” (Luke 24:31).

The same thing is true when Jesus is on the shore fixing breakfast (see John 21:1–7). The disciples are in the boat. They are a long way away, but then all of a sudden they realize, “It is the Lord!” (John 21:1–7). And it says, “They knew it was the Lord” (John 21:12). See the continuity of the nail prints in his hands (see John 20:27).

    A Continuity: Old to New
Theologian Herman Bavinck said, “God’s honor could consist precisely in the fact that he redeems and renews the same humanity, the same world, the same heaven, the same earth that have been corrupted and polluted by sin.” In other words, it is the importance of that continuity."

Well, I expect to be in the presence of Almighty God. I suppose I would recognize others if I took my eyes off of Him but why would I?

Who else would capture my attention away from God? Perhaps I will know, I don’t really know. Perhaps I will know but not really care since I’m in the presence of God.

    peace to you

Death results in separation, but eternal life unites us within the body of Christ. So I think we will recognize our siblings in Christ.
We may have no memory of those who did not obtain eternal life, as a way to provide "no more tears" but that is conjecture.

As far as moms meeting miscarried babies, that is conjecture and has no basis is scripture.

I just want to see a child I’ve wanting to see for 35 years. The name has been on my mind every morning and every night. If, when my journey ends here, I want to see her face… I want to hold her in my arms and I want that to happen soon. The Lord has always been there in my joy, in my stumbling, in my pain and in my grief, but this is a hole, a wound that doesn’t heal as much as I distract myself it still remains until I see her again.
