Recently on the Internet, my computer has started highlighting certain words in yellow. They can be clicked on and go to a list of product weblinks. Has anyone seen this before? Does anyone know how I can get this to stop?

Sounds like you got TopText loaded onto your system, probably in conjunction with something else you installed.

I think the Google toolbar can also do that.

Ken, I got that last year, almost the same time as Brother Glen did. I had to get rig of my Mozzila program - for it allowed all kinds of worms, cookies, spywear and other stuff invade my computer. Today I have Avant Browser, and there is no problem. It warns me when a pop up is coming, and rejects it automatically (but gives a number count in the lower right hand side of the window). I also installed an "Ad-aware 6.0" program of which I am using weekly to get rid of any spywear which inadvertently gets in. The system is either puts these things into quarantine or asks me what to do with them - after each clean sweep... You should look into installing these free programs.

Thanks, Barnabas, I did. And problem solved. You are my computer guru hero. :D

I would also recommend:
Spybot: Search and Destroy http://spybot.safer-networking.de/
SpywareBlaster http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareblaster.html
SpywareGuard http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareguard.html
Note: I have found that running SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard together virtually eliminates the need for either Spybot or Ad-Aware. To see what I mean, try running Spybot and/or ad-Aware after a few days of surfing, then try the same thing after installing and running SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard for a few days of surfing. You will see just how effective these two little programs really are! They prevent most spyware/adware from ever loading to your computer in the first place. -
Thanks Pastork for the helpful information!
