All the churches in my area promote adultery through divorce and remarriage based on a misunderstanding of the except clause in Matthew 19:9. Possibly you and your church do too. Divorce is not an option. Nor is remarriage permissible for as long as the original spouse remains living in the New Covenant.

Do they all promote people getting divorced and remarrying someone else? That seems doubtful.
So, God's specific teaching on divorce to Moses and Jesus teaching on divorce as well as Paul's teaching don't apply to you? Could it be that you have a zealousness that is pure legalism which breeds bitterness and evil in your heart? I have never heard of a evangelical Christian church promoting divorce and remarriage. That seems to be your bane.

All of the churches promote adultery through misinterpreting Matthew 19:9. Some even have single's clubs so you don't need to frequent bars anymore. Revolving door marriages are normal in one of the larger churches.

One Pentecostal minister, I knew when I ran in those circles, hated his wife. He said she was his cross God gave him to bear. He told me he planned to drive her away so she would divorce him and remarry, committing adultery. He could then remarry based on the except clause. This he did and it drove me into one of the worst backslides ever. He became a member of a Lutheran church (who also promotes this in their membership) and a theologian of high degree the last I heard.

So one minster did this - the vast majority of ministers are men of God.

They still open the gate for adultery by holding erroneous views of Matthew 19:9. Would people divorce and remarry if they knew it is adultery and they might end up in hell? If you can find a church teaching the truth on the matter, they have very low if any divorce situations.

are you saying that if a couple who are both Christians - get divorced and re-marry others who are in your words - committing adultery - that they could or would end up in hell???

It would be evidence they were never saved.

They are probably tares. I had a Baptist Aunt who divorced from a cruel husband. But she remained single the rest of her life and went to the mission field instead.

Jesus also gave different answers to questions in a show of wisdom.

Dave, you make a universal statement that cannot possibly be true. It reminds me of Elijah claiming he is the only manof faith in all Israel...then God corrects him by telling him there were 7000 others.
Either your assertion is true, or you are asserting hyperbole and thus being untruthful. Just one group would prove you wrong.
How are you doing with Hebrews 10:25, Dave?
And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

I speak only for me, but I know that in my flesh, as long I live on earth, there will be areas in my life that I struggle with surrendering fully to God. Just one poorly used word not surrendered to God and I have failed to surrender all.
    Romans 7:24-25
Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.

Exactly, notice it does not say do not neglect....unless they are not sinless.

You know I can not speak for Dave - but apparently - a church should not allow a divorce person to be a member of their church.. But if you find such a church - dont join it -as it would no longer be perfect.
As as it has been previously indicated - we should not join a church that has an obese pastor among other things.
