I'm here, Rob!! I missed yesterday because it turns out it was super busy - but I thought of you all!

Palagisislandgirl - I've prayed for the Hallmark family - I can't imagine the pain they must be doing through right now.

Today is a relatively quiet day until later - I'm homeschooling now and will get some chores done. I HAVE to get Joanna's summer clothes all put away since they're all over my dining room table!! Later today, I have a VBS meeting and then after dinner, Nicole (14) has a concert at school, so we'll be up there. We'll tape Survivor to watch it later - want to see what happens!!

It's beautiful here today - already 76 degrees and should be around 80 with some humidity - it feels just like summer already! I've got the house open and airing out - it's wonderful!

Good Morning, soon to be Afternoon, Everyone!

Good thing Rob came in early or ya'll have starved! As it is, my breakfast will have to be lunch too!

Been busy this morning e-mailing teachers so we can get a schedule together to get Chris's work done before school ends. He made it in in time to get a couple of classes this afternoon.

Now it's time for karate and then smocking, so I won't be back till late this evening.

Glad the bugs are gone Sue!

    Ya'll have a good day!

Good Day all! I have been keeping busy on and off the board. One of the BB posters was questioning my "intestinal fortitude," so we exchanged a few emails. Final analysis; I commended him to adhere to the Godly teachings of the Apostle Paul involving his young protégé, Timothy, in I Timothy 4:12 b. I trust that he'll abide by the good Words.... :type:

P.S. By the way, I forgot to introduce myself. I am the twin brother of Barnabas J. Halo. :)

Not only identical twins...but identical twin Administrators too.

I've heard it said that we should always "back up" our data online in case our computer should crash and we lose the data. Guess the BB took it a step further and decided to "back up" it's Administrator just in case too.

PJ, Rob, and Gwyneth, you made me laugh and forget the problems I was facing. Yes, this is the back up of me - just in case. Besides, some of the people started to call me Mr. Halo instead of Barnabas and that got me..... I thought they were referring to my father or something. Hope you folks are having a great day. May all your troubles disappear (I don't remember the rest of this pleasant Irish gretting)..... :type:

P.S. When I joined the BB back on July 1, 2000, before the Great Floods, my displayed name was BJH - so I just went back to my humble beginning. :)

Is everyone as tired as I am tonight?

After getting a shocking surprise (no I didn't stick my finger in a light socket) this morning, trying to figure out why my e-mail suddenly kept throwing me off line every time I hit the send button, karate, smocking, and karate, I guess I should be. Old ladies like me shouldn't try to do so much in just one day.

I'm so tired that my dyslexia is showing up. One of the forum pages has an add offering free "scorn". No not really. On a second closer look the ad is really offering a free porn scan. I definately need to go to bed.

The surprise was that the school doesn't intend on holding a "team meeting" to discuss whether or not Chris is ready for 7th grade. (We still intend on homeschooing next year) I thought I had entered the twilight zone and I'm still not sure that I haven't. When Cass was in 7th grade and was absent only about 20 times in the last semester, we had a "team meeting" where it was recommended that she attend summer school even though her lowest grade was a solid C. Chris has missed 85 days this year total and has a D in one of his classes and they want to not meet so much that I had to call them to find out that we weren't going to have a meeting.

I've cleaned up the coffee house and fixed the coffee pot to where all it needs is turning on in the morning. I'm turning off the lights and heading to bed to rest my poor tired and blistered feet (3 hours of karate in the last 24 will do that to a person).

    Good night!

Good to see you Bro. Jim, and am glad that you are in the same ship with me.

Cindi, you are taking karate?!!! Remind me not to tangle with you on the board.....

Morning all! I'm not a morning person but had to get up early after hearing that thunder. I didn't want the girls walking to the bus in a storm! So now I'm just puttering around on the computer when I should be getting ready for the day. I'm heading up to church at 9:30 to drop of Joanna at preschool and then I'll work while Robby is doing his homeschooling. I'll HOPEFULLY be done around 2 - then I'll head home and do some chores before I have to go BACK to church for the Mother/Son Pizza Party. Robby is really looking forward to that!

Oh!! I JUST remembered - Robby lost a filling last night - so add into today's schedule a run to the dentist. Bleck!! It's a surface filling so it should be pretty quick to fill back in again.

Well, I'm off to fix a waffle for Rob and then take a shower. Have a wonderful day everyone!

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 55 degrees and cloudy, headed for a high of 80 with possible thunderstorms this afternoon.

I brought in Ham and Asparagus Puff Pancakes, Caramel Apple Panini Bread, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Home Fries, and Sausage Gravy and Biscuits. Enjoy.

Not much going on here today. Brenda has a Doctor's appointment, and we have to do some grocery shopping.

Going to a wedding tomorrow afternoon. I remember our wedding 21 years ago.

It was the hottest day of the summer, the church had no AC [voted to have it installed the week after our wedding], had a thunderstorm during the ceremony [evening candlelight ceremony], and after the service somebody opened the doors of the church to let the "cool" air in during the pictures, and all the mosquitos came in with the hot humid air instead, so we were swatting at mosquitos during the pictures. I can laugh about it now, but then.... oh! I forgot, My Wife drove the car to church and forgot to put the windows up, we came out to leave and found the inside of the car drenched from the storm. Should have taped the whole thing and sent it to World's Funniest Videos.

Fortunately the marriage has gone much better then the wedding did.

Morning y'all! No storms here; expecting sunshine and a high of 86 degrees. BRING IT ON!

Our oldest son is preparing for a business trip next week. Though he's 23, he hasn't done that before and I'm already busted about him being away from home for a week. AAAHHH! He's getting married next year. Then I'll REALLY miss him!

Gotta finish up a few things, then my oldest niece's college commencement is tonight. I'm expecting it to be blasted hot in that gymnasium ... ooooeeee! I hope everyone keeps their shoes on!

    HAGD all! :wavey:

    Good Morning Everyone!

Yep, Barnabas, I take karate. All of us do. The kids started taking almost two years ago. Chris and Jenna should get their blackbelts in September. T should get his in December. Cass should be getting hers with Chris and Jenna, but her arthritis keeps her from testing during the winter so she is three steps behind. She might get hers in March of next year and that should be when I get mine. I started when T did but my arthritis kept me from testing last time.

I'm not real mean right now, but I'm getting there! ;)

I've got to clean house today! No maybes about it. I've done everything else this week and now you can hardly walk. I'd really rather sew.

Thanks for breakfast Rob. I was starving!

    Ya'll have a good day!

    Good morning all,
Rob: Thanks for breakfast. It sounds wonderful.
It is 70 now headed for a high of 80 with isolated thunderstorms. I am hoping to get some yard work done before the storms so I had better get started.
    Y'all have a blessed day!

I can't imagine karate and housecleaning. I shouldn't like to have too many precious ornaments about house.

Another lovely day here. The sun is out and shining upon us. We had a wee shower in the night, and that was a blessing. Sure brought the blossoms out on the fruits trees, and exposed the dead ones. Fruit trees are a tough go around here, but managed to save four out of six.

    Cheers everyone...Enjoy your day,

    Jim

Well housecleaning has turned out to be more than clearing a path. I should never have made a clean spot! I still have a bathroom, the kitchen and the floors to do! Cannot believe I let myself start cleaning. All I meant to do was straighten up a bit. Just now I rather be at karate, sore feet and all!

I did figure out that lunch was available, so I've sat down for a moment. I'll have to get back at it in a minute.

Fruit trees grow here just fine, unless they happen to be in my yard. All I have to do is look at one and it develops some sort of something and dies!
