    Sue,

I am sure the concern is legitimate. Batteries can be scary things, especially in your chest. Just prayed.

    Diane,

They are here for a while. Michelle is speaking at our Mother/Daughter Tea Saturday (Sunday is Mothers Day) and Matt is speaking Sunday. Then Monday - Saturday we are all going on a little holiday together out in the countryside of West County Cork. Michelle wants to kiss the Blarney Stone so we will make the short drive to do that, but other than that everyone wants to do NOTHING!

    Sue,

Do you mean Dale has a pacemaker? I know of someone who had one and he was awake and allowed to watch the procedure via a stategically placed mirror. The procedure didn't take too long and went very well.

    I hope this helps.

    Blessings

    Sheila

Sheila: No, it is not a pacemaker. The defribbilator has wires running to his heart. It is slightly lower than his collar bone. He was put to sleep when they put it in 3 1/2 years ago.

Roger: Mother's Day? USA celebrates that on May 9th this year.

Mother's Day here(and for Sheila too) is always three Sundays before Easter. It is tied into Lent somehow. I used to know but have forgotten.

Found a link for Mothering Sunday HERE

    A 1644 quote from it

"Every Midlent Sunday is a great day at Worcester, when all the children and god-children meet at the head and cheife of the family and have a feast. They call it the Mothering-day."
    Diary of Richard Symonds (1644)

Mothering Sunday - sounds like a day to have mothers do all the work!

    Dan - causing trouble again!

Sue, that would really frighten me too. Does it only work when his brain misfires? If so, then maybe he isn't using his defib. as much as usual which would be good.

Roger, don't you have to almost stand on your head to kiss the Blarney Stone? Seems to me there's quite a trick to it!

Happy Mother's Day to Sheila, Mary, Michelle and Gwyneth!

    Diane

I'll pass on your Mother's Day greetings Diane. that was very sweet!

To kiss the Blarney Stone you lay on your back and a chap helps you lean over backwards about 18 inches down to the stone. You are about 100 feet in the air, but there IS a raling in case you slip [IMG]

That was not one of us, jusy a generic picture I found.

Ready for bed here folks, good night to all!

Night Roger! Yep... you'd never get ME to hang over 100 feet and kiss anything! LOL

Sleep well and enjoy your family time.

Good afternoon, everyone. Our temperature just reached 82 degrees and then on then on the news we saw pictures of the snow in the midwest and northeast. Unbelievable!

I have been playing outside with Muffin. I think I did more playing than he did. He just wanted to sit in the sun and watch.

Hope everyone is having a great Day!!

Oh Betty! That is WARM! Everyone is going to be so envious! It just went up over 64° here today so not as warm as predicted but lovely weather nonetheless.

Muffin will probably sleep hard tonight! You too!

    Hi all:

Took an evening nap after filling up on corned beef and cabbage. Just finished watching "Fried Green Tomatoes".

Now, I am going to bed. Pleasant dreams all!

Son was gone this evening, so the wife and I just finished watching "Mona Lisa Smiles". Two thumbs up.

And eating the leftover birthday cake! Now she is "off to bed", and I'm just "off".

    Night Dr.B. - Morning Roger;

Not much sleep going on here! My nap lasted too long last evening. I will be tired tomorrow!

    Am going to try again!

    Night!

I think Sue is trying a new method in her quest for 20,000 posts. Take a nap and stay up late!

Roger---yes, Blackbird agrees! And he has opened a full scale investigation into that alligation--which in Blackbird's opinion--the bold statement "Take a nap and stay up late!" totally contridicts Blackbird's philosphy of "Take a nap and go to bed early!"

But there has got to be somethin' to it, though! You ain't just "messin' around" when you're "barkin' up" the 20,000 post tree--but I believe that if Blackbird tried it----surely his personal computer keyboard would catch fire from the friction created---and Sue don't post no fiction!!

Dan Todd would love to know how Sue is 10,000 posts ahead of him----Dilinger always wondered about Clyde, too!!
