OK, something tells me that Sherrie likes roses... [IMG]

Cindy, isn't it great to have the kids back from time to time? And aren't they cute when they go off to college and when they come back they discover that their Mom and Dad have become so smart. [IMG]

Hey, Bro. Dallas good that you have stopped by. How are things in your neck of the woods? [IMG]

Yes Cindy, and she is now 2 1/2, and she thinks they all are wonderful flowers. Like clover flowers.

Cindy, my son has elected to work at the job he has this summer, so he will not be coming home. This is really sad to me, but I actually understand. My 19 year old son, is totally dependant on himself. He does not need me anymore. I miss my son. He was my best friend. But I am very proud of the new man.

Sherrie, I have two sons, and the oldest,Jonathan (23)lives in Ohio now. Although he may be moving somewhere else at some point, to pursue his MBA.
I miss him terribly. I did get to see him a few weeks ago,and he's coming to visit the last weekend in May.

I love having Justin home. He's 20 and just completed his sophomore year in high school. Both boys are so funny and fun to be around...and my 16-year-old daughter Elizabeth is crazy about her big brothers.

My son Justin said something really funny the other night. He had said that on Monday,he was going to start a physical fitness regime and try to lose some weight.

His friend Philip said, "I wish I could gain some weight! I eat and eat, and never gain a pound!"

"Oh, I feel really sorry for you," I said with a touch of sarcasm, and added..."Yeah...fatness runs in our family."

"No,it doesn't run in our family," Justin corrected. "It kinda sits around on the couch watching TV. If it ran, maybe it wouldn't be so fat!"

I got a big kick out of that! [IMG]

Why thank you Barnabas. Jim got me two gold charms for my charm bracelet and cooked dinner on the grill. I got a Tea Rose bush, candy and a ceramic milk pitcher covered with flowers from our oldest son and his wife. I also got a dozen yellow roses and two red roses from the second son. Our daughter sent cards and tried to have her baby.... but the contractions stopped. LOL. Nick made me several cards and had helped Dad choose the charms.

Have a wonderful day, all! It's misty rain here and is supposed to rain every day for at least the next 6 days. I really don't mind tho. I'd rather it rain that be 95~ LOL.

    Diane

p.s. Mosquitos are back. Nick got 4 bites last night,in bed we are guessing. He usually swells up very badly but between the Zyrtec and Motrin, these aren't swelling... yet... PTL!

Things are going fine here, we have been working in our yard and gardening. I have just received a good report on the pressures in my left eye as a result of surgery two weeks ago they have significantly lowered and I underwent the laser again yesterday afternoon for the right eye.

Our cat just had six kittens, but one has not survived [IMG] Anyone need a kitten??? Our neighbors moved early this Spring and left about fifteen cats and they have found a home with us. Plus we already had two; now the kittens  our youngest son found a starving cat outside our church and now he is part of our family as well.

Other than a combination of 101 Dalmations and Aristocats, we are running pretty normal. Classes and finals ended at WKU last week and I passed everything [IMG] ; looking to start subst. teaching in the fall, Lord willing.

Preparing to go to a conference in Dothan Alabama; per an invite from Bro. David Shortt in Toronto. Bro. David and Bro. D. Paul Tuck Sr. are making the trip and will be visiting us at Grider on June 4 for prayer meeting, then we will continue to the conference which starts on June 6. Had a wonderful Mother's Day spent some time Sunday morning visiting a local Primitive Baptist Church; spent some time with my Mom and due to storms on Sat. eve. couldn't broadcast my radio message Sun. evening. took the opportunity to spend some extra time with Kelly and the kids.

Have begun cursory work on a web-site and attempting to translate it into Russian for some brethren there. Pray for them, they are in need of a church building and according to Bro. Curtis Pugh (missionary in Romania who recently sojourned with the Russian brethren) they are sound and in need of further teaching and perhaps assistance from a local church or a 'more' permanent missionary working among them. Pray for Brother Pugh as well in his work for the Lord and missionaries all around the world for Grace to continue in their service.

    Well, this is enough. [IMG]

Continue to remember us in your prayers as we seek to serve the Lord.

    God Bless All.

Diana, we are so happy for you that Jim treated you well for Mother's Day. BTW, out of your 6-days we will have at least 3-days raining also. It is kind of overcast now - waiting for the water to come. [IMG]

Cindy, next time the subject of fat comes up in the family, just let Justin know how the Bible stands on this issue. Please quote to him or anybody else the well known verse from Leviticus 3:16:

Bro. Dallas, congratulations to your successful completion of academic endeavors! What will you be teaching in the fall? BTW, are you fluent in Russian? Back in the 1950's we had to have a passing grade in Russian in order to graduate, so we learned the language. But I never used it since, and I am afraid I am quite rusty. But here goes a question:

Sherrie, what is calgon bath? Could you elaborate? [IMG]

    Hi Barnabas and everyone!

Barnabas: I just wished the moms a Happy Mother's Day. YOU provided the roses! [IMG]

Calgon comes in a box like 'Mr.Bubble' and the commercial used to say, "Have a Calgon bath and let it carry you away." It is a mixture of moisturizer and bubble bath. It was supposed to be soothing.

I had a very nice Mothers Day. I am so thankful that I did not get another lawnmower. I was leery for a while because hubby was checking out the chain saws on sale. I'm too OLD to climb trees! [IMG]

Sherrie: I doubt that men take Calgon baths. [IMG]

    Blessings,
    Sue

We only have a tub in the main bath (more info than you needed to know, I'm sure) but I love calgon baths. Also have some herbal spa mixes to soak in that makes the tub look like I sprang a leak somewhere. Real men take baths; jocks shower!

    But then, I wear a bowtie too . . .

My sons miss baths so much at college, they soak in the tub as much as possible when they're home! And they're all-man. [IMG]

My hubby prefers showers most of the time, especially working his summer job which is really dirty (he works at a compost site during the summer). He says he doesn't want to sit and soak in his own dirt. [IMG] But other times, when he's feeling particularly sore or achey,he'll soak in the tub as well. And he's secure enough in his own manhood to enjoy the bubbles as well. [IMG]

OK you guys! A Calgon Bath is just like Sue said, it is oily, and bubblely, and smells good, and makes you feel new all over. You relax in the tub. Light a candle, read a paper (or book), put some music on, and your in your own world. No one to bother you. The old saying was when you got in the Calgon tub, "Calgon take me away."

Now isn't that nice and relaxing. You don't want to get out. But the water gets cold, so you do.

ExxonMobil, welcome to the wonderful world of Calgon baths! Hope you will be able to contribute to this thread some ways of taking or avoiding this form of bathing. BTW, I liked your creative rose! Can you make it bloom? [IMG]

I Am Blessed 16 and Sherrie, thanks for that informative write-up about Calgon baths. So, here goes the summary: It is an oily, bubbly substance which smells good? YUCK! Who on earth wants to sit in that for hours? And with music on the side? :(

Dr. Bob, what do you mean about jocks? Are you referring to the old English expression of country boys or those riding horses? For I must be one of those. I do not take a bath almost never (only when I am hurting, like Cindy's husband - and even then, after a good shower). [IMG]

jonmagee, do you have Calgon baths in your country? Or you really did not know what Sherrie was talking about (just like me)?

Cindy, I do like your hubby! He took the words right out of my mouth, when he said that he doesn't want to sit and soak in his own dirt! [IMG]
