Maybe this is why this thread confuses me, I did not know that Mason's were anti-Bible. I thought it was bible based as the freemasons supposedly built the temple. Can you link me to reading supporting the anti-bible position?

Looks like the sign is at a bank, but it is a community announcement because the sign specifies the blood drive is at the 1st baptist (church), it does not here (at teh bank) or the name of the bank, but says baptist.

I don't see it as being "isolationist". I don't see anyone taking a church serious that would host any event run by an organization that is so very "universal" in their beliefs.

And I would chalk it up to the cultural Bible Belt "Christianity" as found in too many mainline churches who adhere to a partial Armenian theology. Their lack of grasping the fullness of the Gospel can, and often does, result in accepting such antics as teaming up with Masons for any "cause".

And don't worry, no offense taken.

Sincerely, A Reformed Baptist by the grace of Almighty God

    Lebuick,

There are plenty of legitimate Christian sites that deal with the matter of freemasonry and Christianity. If you ask a practicing Mason, he can only tell you that there is nothing wrong with it and that it does not conflict with his faith. This is unfortunate because he has either been blinded by his devotion to the lodge or is ignorant of what his own group teaches or he is lying or not telling the whole truth.

The Home Mission Board of the SBC did a study of freemasonry and found that its teaching are not compadible with biblical or baptist doctrine. After making this finding they stated they would have no official stand but let each man decide whether or not to be involved in the lodge. There are an estimated 2 million men in the SBC who are also lodge members.

If you are serious about doing a study on the issue of freemasonry---read what they say about themselves also. "The Encyclopedia of Freemasonry" by Albert Mackey would be a good place to start. He is known as the most authoritative writer on Freemasonry by masons.

Again, any mason in good standing will only be able to tell you what they want you to know. They are bound by their oaths not to reveal what goes on and what is taught in the lodge to a cowen (non mason).

If you desire the truth, you will find it. God bless you as you search.

John Ankerberg and John Weldon write a good small book about the subject.

Lebuick, I would not expect a glowing review of the articals from practicing masons. But if you know the information you could use the knowlege to witness to them.

We should stop thinking of masons as a little mens club and acknolege it for what it is, a false religion.

Read Bro Tony's and Dee Jay's posts. The beliefs and practices of Freemasonry are without the shred of a doubt anti-Bible, but they are disguised as pro-bible. However, if you investigate carefully, you find that this pro-bible appearance is just a mask.

For example, in non-Christian countries, in the Masonic Temple, they put up whatever sacred scripture relates to the predominate religion. So in Muslim countries, you will find a Koran as the "sacred" text in the Masonic Temples.

They teach a salvation by works and in the first degree, men becoming initiated must say they are going from darkness into light. So how could a Christian say this - that he's in darkness? Also, Masonry takes no one from darkness to light.

Some sources for you (these are sites of Christian ex-Masons):

    SBC Pamphlet on Freemasonry

Don't ask the Masons about these sites or this info. They will say it's untrue; they are not going to admit that Freemasonry is unchristian! You have to investigate it yourself. :Fish:
