Is waterboarding torture? Might depend on how tight they were lashed to the board, and how fast the boat was a-pullin, them. But as another said, it might be very appropriate for some members and/or ex-members of Congress! Especially those who are known or convicted pedophiles!

    Waterboarding party

It seeems that a few do not believe that waterboarding is torture. Might I sugggest that we all get togethor and have a waterboarding party and and take turns with being strapped down to the waterboard.

Oh I'll just stand back and watch all the fun.

Some people just refuse to believe anything we do could be torture; others seem to think torture is wonderful tool. At least one maintains that the torture we employ is of no concern because it isn't as bad as that of some other countries.

    Thousands of others simply shrug.

Does anyone know of one American citizen that our government has done this to? Yes waterboarding is torture, the question is it cruel and inhuman torture? Should it be used to get information from the terrorist? I say yes.

Why? Do you think it's not as bad to do it to "one of them"?

Um, that is sort of the definition of torture.

You're supposing that the person is a terrorist. That person can probably not be tried and convicted once they've been tortured.

And, of course, from a practical standpoint, information obtained through torture is notoriously unreliable. Why would you do it?

The US is the most powerful country in the world, yet you think we can not manage without resorting to torture? We have to give up admonishing other countries for human rights violations.

As opposed to "humane" torture? Now there's an oxymoron!
