    1. So at salvation the blood of Christ accomplished something definitely.

    2. But in sanctification, the blood of Christ is only seen as potential in its efficacy, because we might not cooperate.

    3. Am I understanding you correctly?

Are you sure about that? ie your sanctification?

1 Corinthians 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

    Aren't Paul's epistles great? :)
Even to that very carnal church at Corinth, that one that included believers that committed incest, drunkenness, gluttony, suing each other in court, abusing the Lord's Table, heresy as denying the resurrection, abuse of the spiritual gifts, divisiveness, strife, and general carnality. To this church Paul writes "You are sanctified in Christ Jesus." They already were sanctified. They already were saved. They were saints, sanctified in Christ. They would never suffer in a Baptist Purgatory 1000 years of torment no matter how carnal they would have been.

And yes a believer can go to heaven without ever confessing any sins. The thief on the cross never confessed a single sin. Salvation isn't dependent on confession of sin.
That is absolutely right. Because all of our sins are covered by His blood there is certainly no need to confess them again; at least not as far as our salvation is concerned. This shows your lack of understanding of salvation. The Bible teaches that all of our sins are put under the blood--all of them. His blood is sufficient for all. This great doctrine the MEers deny. He has forgiven all of them whether or not they are confessed. If you rely on confession of sin, then you have a religion of works.

If a believer fails to confess sins throughout his life it may affect his daily walk with Christ; his relationship with Christ but it does not change his spiritual genetic make-up. He still remains a child of God. He is born again, and never will be "un-born." That is an impossiblity, just as it is an impossiblity in real life.

Let me try to be polite this time and say that is not what I believe. I didn't think Cals believed that? I think that is some of the worst doctrine I have ever heard in my lifetime. That is one for the books.
I cannot believe what I hear on BB as supposed Baptist doctrine!!! IMO

You all miss the greatest point of all for the "saved". You completely leave Grace out of it after you are born again, you believe man is on his own after salvation, Jesus said I will never leave you or forsake you. You fail to recognize what Grace does for you after you are saved. Father "I" have not lost none. He didn't say there were none that got lost, He said Father "I" have lost none, saving the son of perdition.
After you are born again, you are no longer your own keeper but kept by the power of God. Anyone kept by the power of God does not the things listed by DHK; Is God too weak to keep you?

1Pe 1:5Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

You sell Christians short, as if they can do the most evil things known to man. Do you really know santified means? Jeepers according to you, you would never know a Christian by their walks or works. IMO

    Back to the OP.
Do unbelievers go to hell ?
    Yes. And No.

    Yes.
The unelect go to hell. Whether they believe God, as in religionists do, or whether they do not believe in a God, as atheists do.
Not chosen in Christ. No Savior. No blood that covered their sin. No Father in Heaven. Unelect. Hell.

    No.

Because the redemption of Christ is not limited by geography, race, tongue, creed, or theology.
His blood purchased all of His people wherever they are, whoever they are, and whenever they existed on this earth.
They do not go to heaven on the basis of what they believe.
They do get rewards, blessings, protection and all the benefits of gospel obedience which stems from belief.
Now, do all the elect get to hear the gospel and therefore, believe ?

Well, for a different reason, NO unbelievers do not go to Heaven. You must believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God.

Hbr 11:6But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

I believe that is the way Scripture lays it out for us yes. Christ's blood is perfectly capable of covering all our sins, but if we don't confess them they are not dealt with and therefore can not be covered as I understand it.

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Pretty clear to me.

See this is the exact reason why some many people want to have their ears tickled by this false doctrine of everyone is okay no matter what they do. You can live of life of total ill-repute and still get to rule and reign with Christ. The thing is it's not true. You can't live life any ole way you please and expect to be accepted, because some of those same sins you listed are specifically going to hold people out of the kingdom according to Paul here:

nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

1Jo 1:9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Wonder who He was talking to?

According to some, he couldn't have been talking to saved people, because a saved person doesn't need to confess his sin, because it's already been erased.

If this is the life of a Christian, I have wasted my life. :tear: :tear:

I think I am a lot like John Wesley, I believe Christians are "good" people, who I can leave my children with, trust my wife and daughter, trust to leave in my home while I am absent. Lord If this is not Christians and Christians are people who do not have to confess sins, can commit insest, and be a pedophile.
We need to sit down and start all over. We got it all wrong. It seems like on here that I am so outnumbered too. I will stay back here in these mountains, I don't want no part of that kind of worship. :tear:

I would like to say something about this. This thread is argue all about millennial exclusion.

Millennial exclusion is a false doctrine. I do not agree with it.

But, I agree with millennial exclusionists saying that a unfaithful servant shall be cast away into the outer darkness at the judgment seat of Christ.

Back in 2001, whilst myself was securist. I study on Matthew chapter 24 and 25 on second coming. When I looked at Matt. 25:30, that verse bothered me the mostly. Because it is conflict with unconditional security salvation doctrine as what baptists teaching.

The parable of Matt. 25:14-30 talk about three servants with talents. Remember, all three servants were given talents from God, they ought to use it to serve the Lord. All of them are belong to Lord's. They obey God to use talents, to serve the Lord, like, witness, teach, urge them, attend church, helping church, etc. They are using their talents to obey God. When Christ comes, and we all shall face the judgment seat of Christ to judge our works. The Lord sees a servant did use talent and did served the Lord, then He shall telling to a servant, "Well, you a faithful servant" shall receive reward and inherit the kingdom of God(eternal life) with Christ.

But, a servant have one talent. the Lord expects that a servant is supposed to use it and to serve the Lord. But, a servant hid it and did not use it, do nothing for the Lord. Lord shall saying to a servant, "You are a wicked lazy servant", servant shall be casy away into the outer darkness. We must be realize that 'outer darkness' is a eternality punishment is hell. Even, hell shall be cast into the lake of fire follow at the judgment seat of Christ/great white throne.

Matt. 25:30 is very clear speak of everlasting fire for all unfaithful servants who not obey God, and not serve the Lord, shall be cast away into the lake of fire is everlasting punishment, which speak against unconditional security salvation as what baptists teaching today.

That why I rather listen and stick with Christ's teaching than what baptists actual saying.

I feel that many baptists seem dislike what Christ saying of Matt. 25:30, that why they twist God's Word in different intepreting. Well, they ought to accept what Christ actual saying, we have to take heed and obey God's Word.

    IN Christ
    Rev. 22:20 -Amen!

    Sorry but...

You have made a false assertion regarding what the Scripture has to say about Christ's blood being shed for all the sins of the entire world. Read John 3:16.

The first part of the verse makes it clear that Christ's sacrifice was for the entire world. In the Greek NT the word translated as “world” is cosmos meaning the whole of God's creation. Thus, Christ was sent to shed His blood for all of God's creation (i.e., cosmos). All of mankind is but a small part of God’s creation (i.e., cosmos). However, all of mankind is entirely within God’s creation (i.e., cosmos).

Thus, we arrive at the following syllogism:

    1. Christ was sent to shed His blood for God’s entire creation (i.e., cosmos).
    2. All mankind is within God’s creation (i.e., cosmos).
    3. Therefore, Christ’s blood was shed for all mankind.

Since several of you have made reference to simple logic try this little exercise in basic logic. Write out on a piece of paper, "For God so loved the world (i.e., cosmos) that He gave His only begotten Son…”. Then draw a big circle and label it "The World (cosmos)." Then draw a smaller circle completely inside the first circle that you just labeled as "The World (cosmos)" and label this smaller circle “All Mankind.”

This should provide you with a very clear pictorial illustration that disproves your assertion:
He was slain for them before the foundation of the world (Rev. 13:8). God sent Him to shed His blood for all of creation (John 3:16) and all mankind is completely within God’s creation. It is a done deal so to speak. Christ’s blood has been applied to all the sins of the entire creation. However, will everyone place their faith in the work of Christ on the Cross? Clearly, the Scripture indicates that some will not. They reject Christ and God’s grace through their lack of faith (the converse of Eph. 2:8-9).

Finally, there is plenty of Scripture which clearly teaches that some will reject the salvation made available to them through the shedding of Christ’s blood, and that they will face a final judgment resulting in their being cast into hell. To suggest otherwise is simply to reject the clear teaching of whole counsel of God’s Word.

Amen! And those who choose to reject Christ will go to hell with their sins already paid for.

i would only add that in the first sense, ie. what is normally called "justification" that they are all covered past present and future. No sin you commit can undoe the grace of God. Once saved always saved,

But in the second sense (sanctification) we can't get around the fact that if God chastens his children it isn't for no good reason.

We are chastened by God for sins that are absolutely and eternally covered under the blood. Why can God ever chasten us for sins that are eternally paid for? And what about that is made right just because we happen to die? That is the issue the other side doesn't address.

So the only conclusion possible is that it is two very separate things. (although related-no practical sanctification possible ever without initial justification.)
