Negativism at Home Could Produce Defeat Of U.S. Policy in Iraq

We've got our oil, now it's just a question of securing it.

The new oil for blood program is going to be costly.

 

How long til the conservatives call for Canada's neck and order our oil and resources to be seized?

 

1. Those 8 million Muslims in Iraq who recently voted for democracy are right. Those in other countries have never had that opportunity, so we cannot know what they would really choose if they truly had a choice. But, we do see the beginnings of rumblings for freedom throughout the middle east ever since January in Egypt, and in Lebanon. This is part of the reasons the non-Iraqi terrorists are fighting so hard to stop democracy in Iraq. Because they know it will be the first step to them losing their grip of power over the people they oppress.

2. Liberals are the minority because they recieved less than half the votes. President Bush recieved more than half the votes. Now, I don't know what kind of math you guys in Canada use, but here in America, that is a majority for Bush, which is probably why in your very next sentence you start making the argument against the majority, because your side lost.

I don't believe we have any reason to do so. Do you have terrorists training camps in Canada? Do you harbor terrorists? Do you pay terrorists families money to go to Israel (one of our allies) and blow themselves up and kill Jews? Is there something I don't know about Canada? As for arguing against the majority, you know why I said what I said and you understood it perfectly.

My "side" did not lose. If you remember very well you'd see I said on a post that I don't support ANY party that is power. I support the opposition. Most people in their right mind would as well...but you are content to put your blind trust in the party in power and believe they have your best interest at heart. You are past "draft age" and have not learned that yet. I learned it a long time ago.

What about them? If you think all of our brave men and women around the globe should come home to protect the border you clearly are not thinking rationally. The war at home is not with illegal aliens but with people (regardless of their claimed political affiliation) who undermine our military, our President and spread their venom at whatever cost. You "conservative Christians" who have sold your souls to this man better start getting your heads screwed on straight. This is no longer an issue dividing republicans and democrats. Clear thinking people from across all sections of society realise that this war is and always was unrelated to Terrorism or national security. Furthermore, there is no end in sight, and there will be no victory.

 

Then why did they vote to continue the war, as it was the central issue of the campaign? Who did you vote for last year. Face it...your guy lost and now you are whining about it. I don't agree with Bush (I am not a stupid brainless robot as you tried to paint me as) on everything. But I support him on the war.

Pretty sad when a vote on continuing a war is a central issue of a campaign for an election. There are other important things as well.

I doubt that. The Bible says terrorism will INCREASE in the last days. Says nothing about you winning a war against it. Whom shall I believe? The Bible or your empty bravado?

 

That is just it... I don't have blind devotion to him. I oppose several of the things he wants to do. But I do support the war.
