I think we should crusade against this 5 hour difference in time between us and Scotland. Jon even had me trying to think early this morning, and I am an early riser.

Hello everyone. It is dull here to-day, but expecting a grand day just the same.

The World Health Organization in Geneva has Canada in a SARS dilemma.......Wow! I hope you are all wearing a face mask and rubber gloves as you read my posts...wouldn't want to pass on SARS.

Just an update. Everything is under control and has been from the beginning. All cases have been directly linked with the original carriers and no isolated cases have come up. Cases are also in decline here, which the WHO failed to note. It is the most unscientific release this organization has ever made. We may have to send our army over to Geneva and take them out..........wait, those two soldiers have no vehicle to get them there........guess we will have to just wait them out........speaking of haggis and okra and gumbo,,,is there a food specific to Geneva we could boycot????/ [IMG]

    Cheers,

    Jim

Jim I am not saying I am a hyprocondriac...but I am close...and that SARS really does bother me. Hope the scientist find a cure soon.

Poor jon.....If could send you some okra seeds, I would. It is the easiest thing to grow. I have had some plants I know well over 10 ft. tall. You need a sharp knife or a pair of scissors. And once tthey start blooming...everyday you go out and start cutting them off. The best ones are no more than 3inches long. They can get really tough any longer. Each plant will yeild at least 5 fruits. At least! (that is over and over) You will have to be careful of the bees. Oh and while doing this, you will be itchy. This plant sets off something that makes you think you are being attacked by ants.

Once you have cut your okra and taken it to be washed...take it in and place in a sink of water. cut the ends off and dice and place in freezer bags, and freeze. Because you will pick everyday, and be overwhelmed with it. The neighbors will even be tired of it.

Summer. It will start blooming here around July, and should be planted around April. It will go well into Sept. and sometimes Oct. The late plants, let the pods get large and dry for seeds.

But your Summer is hotter than ours, Sherrie. Is it dry or damp in the summer in Dexter?

    yours, Jon.

Sherrie, it is 10:21AM here in Eastern Ontario.

Jon, you may very well be on "summer time", but it is all based on Greenwich Mean Time.....the whole world is based on Greenwich Mean Time.....and it can be mean when relatives decide to give us a call in early morning when it is middle of night here....."Did we wake you, they ask? (at 3 in the morning here.......)

    Cheers,

    Jim

Very humid. They grow it in Africa. It originated from Africa. You also do not need good dirt for it. You can buy it frozen here. Already breaded. you just deep fry it. Or not breaded for gumbo.

Our summers here can be as high as 120 with a heat index much higher. Living here you would have to have air conditioning. Fans only circulate the heated air. Our weather is changing more and more every year. More hotter and more humid. This is not where you would come if you had Asthma problems. It will only trigger it.

Sherrie, I remember one time preaching in Florida. They took pity on me and left the air conditioning on all day from morning to night. That also dried out the humidity and affected my ability to speak.

    yours, Jon.
