Hello everyone who is comfortable. It is after 2000hrs and I am sweating in front of the fan in my sarong. I am so hot, it is too hot to eat icecream or do anything much except for feel sorry for myself. The cats are panting, it must still be in the high 30s here, please pray for snow here.....

Here in Ireland it is about 3C and I am enjoying a hot cuppa tea. I am not a hear person so feel for you.

I guess you don't want a cuppa tea ?

High 30's - that's over 100F for our American friends!

 

Wup! I see the Lord didn't come during the nite, cuz I's still here! But-it gives me yet another day to work for Him!

I've always loved this poem...don't know the author-

That's rich, BroJim! I had a goose that came knocking on my door one day & we became friends. (I've talked about him a couple of times when I was here before).

He died a couple of months ago & it broke my heart. I found a poem I dedicated to him.

To Joe-HONK!: "Wild Goose"

Where do you go, wild goose, wild goose
Dotted far above me in the sky
Keeping your perfect formation
Gliding gracefully as you fly?
How did you know when to move
From your home in the faraway North
To wing your way towards the South

Spring is in the air...the temp went up a few degrees and everyone everywhere is spouting poetry. I LOVE IT!
Well, everyone except the girl in Australia! I'll have to see if I can make a poem for her!

I sat all day in my sarong
Surrounded by a feline throng
Wanting ice cream but in this heat
Sugar will leave me feeling not so neat
What I wouldn't give to have some ice
Falling from the sky, that would be so nice!
But here I sit melting in this weather
At least this board makes it a little better!

It's the best I could do on such short notice. LOL Ya want Shakespeare go do a google search.

That's great, Gina! Ironic isn't it? We are so happy with a lovely spring day while some are freezing and some of sweltering in the heat.

It has been a wonderful day here, but thunderstorms may be on the way.

We had lunch today with children and grandchildren. You will never believe what my son did to his baby daughter (10 years old). Her pastor had used the word hypocrite and she didn't know what it meant. Dad told her it was a baby hippo. Her older brothers and sisters came to her rescue and told her the real meaning.

They were telling me that they have a new pastor...this is the largest Baptist Church in our town. The first service is "contemporary" and the second service is "traditional". The pastor wore sweats and a robe (bathrobe not a clerical robe) to the contemporary service, telling them that since it was so early that causal dress was okay! Grandchildren liked the service, but complained a little about the service being so early. Before this pastor came the two services were held at the same time. This pastor wants to preach at both services.

Granny - I've often said that I'd like to live somewhere - where there is no one within a mile of me!

Already had my first cuppa, couldn't sleep so was up around 4.00 my time (1100 last night EST).

BroJim~my goose really did "knock" on my front door! I couldn't believe it! Next time he came around I had my camera ready & got pictures!

He'd fly low after us down the road everytime we'd leave in our old pick-up. He loved that truck. It was sooo funny to see him flapping those great wings of his, & when we'd turn the corner, he'd do a right bank & hang tough...then he'd put his "landing gear" on & run thru' the cotton fields till we were outta sight!

Back home, he'd terrorize everyone, including the guineas, but would sleep with our son's Lab who slips down to our house everytime it storms, which btw, it's doing today, YAY!

I'd have to pull grass & hand-feed him...think he had me trained? He was a mess & I sure do miss him, so thanks fer letting me "talk" about him! God Bless all today.

Thanks BroDan! In the past year I've lost 2 15+y/o cats, 1 10y/o dog, & that ol'goose, honk! It's about to get to me!

The bayous are overflowing today, & some of the 'gators will find their way to my neck of the woods, I'm sure...but I haven't "adopted" one yet, haha!

 

Thank you Gina for the lovely poem. My prayer was answered and the wet stuff has been like manna from heaven, more importantly the humidity is down and it is pleasant. It always amuses me that we always want what we havent got, like me wanting snow and the need to wear a cardigan!! Huh I would be so thin blooded I would be on the heaters if my wish became true.

I have just finished work, where a mum and her kids came into our little hospital which does not have an emergency room and I helped resuscitate her 18 month old who was prostrate with heat exhaustion, then ministered to a pretty overcome mum....the other kids were pretty cool about it all as kids are... well it gave me a nice feeling to have done good. It did kinda mess up my shift with the extra work but what the hey, this is why I wanted to do nursing....

 

Dear Granny Gumbo, maybe a hampster will come your way, or a fat old blue tongue lizard, ( whatever you have in your neck of the woods, are the type of lizard that you see and think holy snapping codfish its a snake and then you see the little legs and claws and think oh well nothing like a scare to shake off a couple of years)

Howdy Briony-Gloriana! I do have snakes in my house(NOT pets), & a wall full of honey bees. The one end of this old house is made of cypress & will be around long after I'm gone...it's already been here well over 100yrs.

I have seen some ugly looking thangs outside & someone told me they were called salamanders. I have a friend who has a big snake as a pet & a sister in Georgia who keeps a gila-monster.

 

A Goose for a pet I might like, but not anything like a snake, etc.

I am supposed to pick my granddaughter up from school this afternoon and I am sooooooooo afraid that I will forget! I keep watching the clock and reminding myself.
