I wouldn't say that Jesus is 100% God and 100% man because, IMO, it's not something one can describe in terms of percentages. If you choose to do so, then you are using percentages as a metahpor, not in terms of responsibility. Those are quite different things. Saying God is 100% responsible for salvation and man is 100% responsible for salvation is not a metaphor, it is an attempt to explain the division of responsibility. When you do that, 200% makes no sense.

Then would you say that Jesus is fully God and fully man? That is the orthodox position. Regardless of whether you use percentages or not, you have a mystery which cannot be comprehended by the human intellect. That is the point of what I am saying. The interaction between God's and man is a mystery as well. I really don't see how you can deny that Edward's is agreeing with that. I also don't think you can deny that Piper is using the quote in his book to make that very point.

I would contend with your position with the declaration that neither Edwards nor Piper would state "Salvation is 100% of God and 100% of man." That is a lot different, however, than stating that God is 100% sovereign and man is 100% responsible.
