Dead to the Ten Commandments
Romans 7:1 ¶ Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no... -
John 6:44
I am not reformed and this is not about reformed doctrine. There have been some, who I do not remember, on this board that have argued that man has a natural ability to come to God on his own. That faith is found within man. While I am not reformed (Calvinist) I reject such a notion. What do we do with the verse below when we hold that man can come to God on his own:
Joh_6:44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

Foreknowledge
Romans 8:29 States "For whom He did Foreknow..."
Their are some who say this is a mis-understood term. Even saying I don't understand foreknowledge.
Well here is the Greek word used there:
Proginosko:
And here are it's meanings:
to have knowledge before hand
to foreknow
of those whom God elected to salvation
to predestinate
To have knowledge before hand it says, Romans 8:29 states whom He had knowledge of beforehand, so before hand must be the sticking point. Whom did God... -
Is it moral to Kill in self-defense?
Or to rephrase the question, "Is it moral to preserve one's life (Kill) in self-defense?"
Following Tomas Aquinas' logic:
1. Natural law dictates that it is normal to preserve one’s life.
2. Since it is a principle of natural law, it is therefore moral to preserve one's life.
3. Since it is moral to preserve one’s life, it is therefore lawful to defend one’s life.
4. Therefore, self-defense is a moral act and lawful act.

Human State at birth?
What exactly is the human state at birth? Lots of terms are used to describe it:
Sin nature, total depravity, innocence with a tendancy to sin...
My primary question is for those who seem to disagree with some aspect of the idea of sin nature:
"If we are not born with a sin nature inherited from Adam due to his original sin in the garden, Why is it that ALL humans sin?" -

What specifically, excites or worries you about the new perspective on Paul? -
Support for the Right for Adam and Steve to Wed Grow in California...
According to a recent poll, Californians are now in favor of same %ex-marriage. marriage. Of course, whoever takes these polls never asked me my opinion, but I still had to respect the pollsters, and as you will see in the attached article, given time, public sentiment changes all, even our moral and values as a society.

More on Chrislam!
One more nail in the coffin? You tell me? It seems like where there was smoke, there now looks to be fire, and the Purpose Driven supporters may not be able to put out the flames too much longer...

I Am Wondering, Did Jesus Troll?
(Hint: Read Luke 4:19-30 KJV, where Jesus purposefully trolled and incited His own hometown fellow Jews within their Saturday Morning Synagogue Service, such that they first praised Him, then tried to literally kill Him.)
(Another Hint: Read Matthew Ch. 23 KJV where Jesus trolled The Pharisees as a group by calling them "liars," "whitewashed tombs," "blind guides," and "hypocrites." Nobody asked Him to do this.)
(Another Hint: Read Matthew 12:40-41 KJV where Jesus says the Gentile... -
Isn't it our Christian duty to support the Second Amendment?
Guns equals freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from persecution. If we can travel back more than two hundred years ago and ask our Founding Fathers, they would probably say that it is a Christian duty to do so.
What do you think?
